Snowmobile Report – March 6, 2025
The trails will open on Thursday 3/6/25 at 8am and will close on Sunday 3/9/25 at midnight. Trails have not been groomed or inspected.  Ride with caution and Ride Right

Please stay on the trail.  A lot of Ashland County snowmobile trails are on farmers land, please be respectful so we don’t lose our easement to their property. Snowmobiles may not be modified, or operated, to amplify or otherwise increase the total vehicle noise above the originally manufactured snowmobile noise level.

Snowmobile Information:

It’s a beautiful day in Iron County WI where we are still processing 12-20″+ of new snow! Our volunteers have been out grooming in full force over the past 24 hours and are thankful for this March bonus! Please treat ALL trails as if they are early-season riding conditions, and watch for water areas on the trail. Also note, the following trails are being listed as closed:

And, the following trails will not be groomed and travel is up to your discretion:

Parts of 15a
15 (South of 8w)
All other trails including trail 7 through the Clement Swamp, and trail 3 to the Michigan state line (trail 160), are OPEN and groomed.

Area Report:

We received a good 10 – 12 inches of snow with todays storm that came in.  Trails were not in good condition and grooming had stopped prior to today’s storm.  I am waiting to hear back from the clubs regarding when and where the groomers will be headed out to either tonight or tomorrow.  I will come back and update the report hopefully later tonight once I get word back from the clubs.

Trails are open in Bayfield County. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, groomers have been pulled for the year. Ride with caution and have fun!

Area Report:

Just a quick update for all you snowmobilers so far today.  We have received 8 inches of snow and it is still coming down.  This will put the groomers and operators back out on the trails later today and into tomorrow.  As it stands right now.. trails are not groomed.. but they will be going out soon to start the process.

Hooray!!  We’ve got snow!  🙂 

Snowmobile Information:

Groomers will be going out later today once the storm starts to let up.

The Frosty Club groomers are out packing the trails and removing trees and branches from the trail. The Vilas County Alliance is currently voting on a motion to open on Friday. Frosty voted YES to opening so hopefully we can get 5 more votes.

Got the word from groomer Matt that the lake markers have been removed from Crawling Stone, and Fence Lakes. Current predictions are for anywhere from 8 to 12 inches of snow starting tonight, Tuesday, through tomorrow, Wednesday. Vice president Ken has put the groomer team on alert to start possibly grooming tonight and tomorrow. Will advise on a condition status tomorrow afternoon. Cross fingers, over. Mark
