Snowmobile Trail Reports:

Red Arrow Snowmobile Trails (Townsend) – It’s 16 degrees in beautiful downtown Townsend this snowy morning. Right now the trails east of Hwy 32 are in good to very good condition. The Nicolet State Trail ( The Grade ) is very icy in spots so be careful! I would say that it is in good to very good condition. The trails west of town toward Hwy 64& T are in good to very good condition on the level trails. In the hills it is still FAIR TO POOR. We still need more snow there for covering the rocks.

Paul Bunyan (Lakewood) – All three groomers were out last night and conditions are great. We wanted to have them totally flat before the snow starts today. Cross your fingers that it happens. Will update snow totals Wednesday.

Chute Pond Snowmobile Trails (Mountain) – 1/15/19 (waiting on new report) Chute Pond trails are open. Trails are panned and in early season condition, meaning to watch for dips and ruts that will need more snow to fill in. There may also be some icy areas. Riding is not advised on the NST south of Hwy 32 to Suring and also the route through Suring to Golf Course Rd due to low snow cover. The pipeline trail may not be groomed until the low spots freeze up more- use extra caution if you ride in that area. Watch for groomers on the trail anytime of day or night, and always yield the right of way to them. Enjoy your ride!

Bagley and Brazeau Joyriders Snowmobile Trails – The B & B Joyriders trails are now all open. We received 5.5 ” of snow the last 2 days The groomers were out all day Wednesday and will be out all day Thursday. The trails that have been groomed last week are in good condition and the trails that have just been groomed are fair to good condition. Remember the trails just opened this year so it’s like early season conditions on 2/3 of the trail. There also is ice under the snow in spots so ride safe.

Trail Report – : Crivitz, Wisconsin – January 23, 2019

Reporter:ironsnowshoe

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 6 to 8 inches

Date of Report: January 23, 2019

Area Report:

Mother Nature did come through for us.  We received five inches of snow in Crooked Lake and up to three inches of snow on the north end of our trail and through the Twin Bridge Area.

All groomers have been out and are finishing up as we speak.  I would rate the trail as very good according to the groomers guys.  The exception is the area between Kirby Lane, along W and to the golf course.  That area is rated as fair mostly because of the plowed field area which is only several hundred yards long.  The groomer did go through there and did what he could with it.  It is frozen and it is passable.

I cannot wait to go riding.  The trails are phenominal…definitely the best this year so far.  Cold temperatures will help hold everything together, but remember to bring your warmest gear.

Also, take note of the radar run and brat fry at Boat Landing 3 this Saturday…

Happiest Trails to all of you…see you out there…

Trail Report – : Hayward / Sawyer County, Wisconsin – January 23, 2019

Reporter:haywardlakes

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 3-6 inches snow

Date of Report: January 23, 2019

Area Report:

Hello Riders!

In the last two days the county has received about 1-3″ of fresh snow, most of the county about 2-3″. The trails from the center of the county to the north continue to be reported as good as they are flat and smooth. The report on the Tuscobia is that it is good as well and they are grooming it now! It will all be groomed except a small portion on trail 5 from the Tuscobia to Eagle Lodge as the groomer can’t get in there but the trail is open. From Loretta to the north has also been reported to be good. This is great news for that part of the county as they have patiently awaited fresh snow and good trails! So your area to ride in the county has grown! This fresh snow covered many bare spots that were in the open and was great to get on top of the nice ice base to help keep sleds cool. Please still ride with caution as there are ice spots under this snow. Several groomers have been out from the Flowage and to the north and several more continue to go out in this region today and the following days before the weekend.

Surrounding counties; Bayfield is open and good, Ashland is partially open, Price is open and good, Rusk and Barron are closed and Washburn is now partially opened.

A few snow showers today and cold temps in the upcoming days will make for the trails to continue to hold up.

Thank you to all club members, volunteers and all visitors for choosing Sawyer County as your riding destination!

Prentice Bush Benders Trail Report 01/17/2019

The trails are in fair condition in the wooded areas and poor condition with minimal snow coverage in the open areas and around the village of Prentice. They are still in early season riding condition with some rough spots. We are currently grooming/panning the trails once per week until we get more snow and can start normal grooming operations. The trails to the South and East of Prentice have the most snow cover and all creeks and swamps remain frozen at this time. There is logging on trail 181 East of Prentice and on trail 116 around County Road K. With the base we have down trail conditions will improve quickly if we get more snow. Ride safe and have fun.

The Sno Drovers 1/15/19

The Sno Drovers’ trails in the Pike Lake area continue to be in fair to good condition.   While the weekend traffic was hard on the thin snow cover, but they are grooming up well.  There are rocks in areas that have made their way to the top of the snow, especially on 101 west from the lakes by the iron bridge and on 111 just north of Fish Trap Road.  There are occasional bare spots, but not too many nor too bad.  If we get just a few inches of snow, the trails should be great since they are nice and flat now.

Logging continues on Trail 120 south of the big swamp and Fould’s Creek Rd and on Trail 108 between Trail 101 and highway 70.  Take these slowly and expect icy conditions and logging equipment.

Several inches of new snow fell over the last two days.
