Trail Report – : Boulder Junction, Wisconsin – February 8, 2019

Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 14-16 inches

Date of Report: February 8, 2019

Area Report:

Trail report for February 8, 2019 – Trails are VERY GOOD. The several inches of snow we received yesterday made a lot of people very happy. The groomers were out last night and early this morning laying down a nice flat trail. We expect heavy traffic over the weekend. With all the snow we got it doesn’t take long before the trails degrade quickly. Washboard bumps can form very fast especially near town in congested areas. The temps dipped down below zero last night throughout this morning. This helps firm up the trail and it stays flatter longer. With all the expected increase in traffic this weekend lookout for the other riders. The corners and other areas remain icy. Please use caution. The groomers will be out during the night and early morning over the weekend doing what they can to make a great trail for you to ride on. Remember to be safe, ride right, and enjoy the ride.

Trail Report – : Oconto County, Wisconsin – February 8, 2019

Reporter:Oconto County Tourism

Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 8-10

Date of Report: February 8, 2019

Area Report:

Red Arrow Snowmobile Trails (Townsend) – It’s 14 degrees in beautiful downtown Townsend this morning. We received 6 1/2″ of fresh snow yesterday, and if my Weather Channel App is accurate, we could receive 5″-8″ more  Thursday. This should turn the area into snowmobilers heaven.

The groomers will most certainly be out working their magic on the trails tonight and throughout the rest of the week.

Paul Bunyan (Lakewood) – It’s 5:30 am Friday and the area received 5 to 6 inches of fresh snow. It started out as rain so this was a better packing snow to groom. The groomers got in early this morning and there is another shift going out to open the trails that are blocked by plowing operations on the town and county roads. It’s going to be windy so expect drifting snow in the open areas. Ride safe and watch for the groomers.

Chute Pond Snowmobile Trails (Mountain) – Chute Pond trails are open, being groomed, and are in very good condition. There may be some low hanging branches from the recent heavy snow (8-12” in the past week), so please use extra caution. Grooming will be ongoing- so please watch for them on the trail anytime of day or night- and always yield the right of way to the groomers. Stay to the right, and enjoy your ride!

Bagley and Brazeau Joyriders Snowmobile Trails – B &B Joyriders trails received 5” of new snow, Tuesday. The groomers have been out all day Wednesday and Wednesday night. They will be back out Friday after the next snow fall, 3” to 6” that maybe on the way. The trails are in good to very good condition. Some of the open fields on the south end of the trail system are a little light of snow. If you ride to Suring, the old trail is closed through the golf course, but the trail does go around it and back into town.

Gillett – Trails are open and groomed earlier today and in good shape.  Be aware there is ice under the snow be cautious.

Oconto Falls Sno-Jokers – Oconto Falls trails will be open today 2/7 at noon. We will be grooming today and tomorrow as our volunteer groomer drivers schedules allow.

Lena Snowdrifters-  Trails are open.

Chase Sno Chasers Trails – Trails are open.

We cannot stress enough to RIDE SAFELY and RESPONSIBLY. Trail conditions vary greatly throughout the County.  Always use caution when riding on lakes and frozen water as ice conditions will vary.

Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 12-15”

Date of Report: February 8, 2019

Area Report:

Here are your current conditions:
Lots of fresh snow this week. Over 12”. We have been working our butts off grooming. Everything is in excellent shape. Now is the time to ride. Trails are excellent. Watch out for low hanging branches. All trails are being groomed 4-5 times a week. Trails have a great hard base. May develop some icy corners as the day goes on.

Please, slow down and limit your drinking. Way too many fatalities in northern Wisconsin, and they all can be prevented.

Lakes are all marked. Remember, stay as close to the barrels as possible. If you don’t see barrels, assume they are not safe.

Please respect our private landowners and stay on the trail. We have had a couple issues this year already and it always puts our trails in danger.

Use caution at all road crossing as they are icy.

Check our Facebook page for information about the new hoodies and T-shirt’s we have for sale.

SNO-EAGLES TRAILS OPEN!
Trails Good-Very Good

February 8 2019 6:28am – 4 below – High 5 today

Plenty of SNOW over the last few days.  Easily over a foot!  SNOW fell at a rate of an inch an hour from late morning to near dinner time.  Groomers out last night working to smooth it all out.  Should be great riding this weekend.

After the colder day today, which is great for trail set up the temps will come back up a little.  Saturday, 13 high & 1 low.  Sunday, 18 high & 5 low.  Great riding weekend!  Get the sleds loaded up on the trailer.  Hook up the trailers to the tow vehicle.  Head on up!

There still may lot of branches, limbs & trees down from the ice storm & the volunteer Sno-Eagles crew continues clearing, cutting & removing.  So as you ride be aware that there still may be downfall in the trails or very low hanging branches.  Along with that there still is a hard icy base under all this new SNOW.  So maybe slow down a bit. No problem areas to report.

Sno-Eagles Country has 2 areas that have one-way trails.  10E is a one-way trail from the ERRA Sports Arena all the way out to Nicolet Mini Mart.  The other is the 13’s up near Buckatabon Bridge & Bauer’s Dam area.  Clearly marked with DO NOT ENTER signs.  Plus trail signs are backwards if you are going the wrong way.

EAGLE LAKE TRAIL & CATFISH LAKE TRAIL ARE MARKED & OPEN. Stay by the reflective orange barrels.

Thanks for THINKING SNOW!!!

Hope you’re planning on riding.  See ya on the trails!
