SNO-EAGLES TRAILS OPEN!
Trails Very Good to Excellent

February 9 2019 7:32am – 22 below – High 12

Trails in Eagle River are in terrific condition!  Groomers have been working steady over the last couple of days to get all groomed. Looks like all was groomed with the exception of a portion of trails 17N near town, 1N & 1S, Grampa Graham.

No problem areas to report except that there is still that thick ice base under all the new SNOW.  Plus from the ice storm & then heavy SNOW there are branches hanging low along the trails.

As for the weather the weather guys got it just a bit wrong.  It is 22 below zero this morning.  Will reach a high of 12 today with 1 below tonight.  Then those guys report above zero in high teens & lows 20’s during the day for a long time. Single or low double digit above zero at night.  Perfect riding weather!

SNOW on tap for Monday night into Tuesday morning. Could be a good amount.  Plus another SNOW on Thursday.  Sure hope they are right!  Stay tuned.

Sno-Eagles Country has 2 areas that have one-way trails.  10E is a one-way trail from the ERRA Sports Arena all the way out to Nicolet Mini Mart.  The other is the 13’s up near Buckatabon Bridge & Bauer’s Dam area.  Clearly marked with DO NOT ENTER signs.  Plus trail signs are backwards if you are going the wrong way.

EAGLE LAKE TRAIL & CATFISH LAKE TRAIL ARE MARKED & OPEN. Stay by the reflective orange barrels.

LaBatt Blue/USA Hockey Pond Hockey Tournament on Dollar Lake this weekend.  You can ride by sled.  From town take “the grade” Trail 3/13Alt to 10E to Trail 1.  Follow the signs.

Thanks for THINKING SNOW!!!
See ya on the trails!

Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 12″+

Date of Report: February 8, 2019

Area Report:

The recent 12″ or so of snow we received will make for some very good riding this weekend. Temps will be very cold to set up the trails at night to hold up well. USE CAUTION & MAINTAIN REASONABLE SPEEDS FOR LOW HANGING BRANCHES ON ALL TRAILS FROM A RECENT ICE STORM. Corners & hills will be very icy & lots of drifting in fields & lakes. Remember nighttime speed limits of 55 m.p.h  & stay on marked trails & lakes marked with orange barrels. Support a local club & businesses & give the groomer operator’s a big thumbs for doing a great job of making the trails smooth for your riding  in the northwoods! United we trail divided we fail!

Fifield Sno Drovers 2/7/2019

The Fifield Sno Drovers’ trails in the Pike Lake area are in great condition.   The very solid, smooth base we’ve had for much of the winter combined with 6” of new snow received over the past couple of days is grooming up very well and making for excellent trails.   Everything is covered and smooth and the cold weather has allowed us to cross all the swamps in our area.   NOW IS THE TIME TO RIDE!

Logging continues on Trail 120 south of the big swamp and Fould’s Creek Rd and on Trail 108 between Trail 101 and highway 70.  Take these slowly and expect icy conditions and logging equipment.

NorthWoods Hi-Riders 2/7/2019

We finally got the snow we needed. Trails have a frozen base from the melting over the weekend and now we have a very nice covering of 10+” of fluffy white snow. Perfect. Groomers are out and will be catching up. Trails will be in very good to excellent riding condition for the weekend.

Prentice Bush Benders trail report 02/06/2019

The melt on Sunday really hurt the open areas but with the new snow these are not an issue any more. There may be some over flow from the melt on Sunday so ride safely. We will be grooming all week and should have all trails groomed by the weekend. The trails should all be in good condition by the weekend. Ride safe and have fun.
