Your Online Trail and Travel Guide for Snowmobiling the U.S. & Canada

Trail Report – : Rhinelander, Wisconsin – January 8, 2019

Reporter:Hodag SnoTrails
Trail Conditions: Early Season
Snow Cover: 4-6" with a good base
Date of Report: January 8, 2019
Area Report:

We received 3+ inches of wet heavy snow followed with some rain.  All of the groomers will be out panning the trails and will be completed within the next 48 hours.  The good news is this type of snowfall with the cold temps will set up well with the panning efforts.  The struggle continues to be the lack of snow to get the trails in world class condition.  The groomers will be working hard to make the trails as flat as possible, but there still isn’t enough to rate them as “good”.

The forest roads and trails with a good base will be fine.  The fields will still be a bit thin due the the high winds that could have blown some of the snow off.

All of the lakes are marked and are safe to cross – staying by the markers.

Please stay on all marked trails. It is an ongoing situation to keep all of our landowners happy that snowmobilers are respecting their property.
