Trail Report: Crivitz, Wisconsin – January 27, 2017

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 6+ inches

Date of Report: January 27, 2017

Area Report:

Well, Mother Nature has cooled it back down for us, but that last snow only brought us about an inch that mostly melted as it landed.  We still have some base left in most areas and its flat, however, the open areas are in poor condition with many bare spots.  The weather channel is calling for some snow early next week.  If we would just get 3 or 4 inches of good heavy snow we could be in good shape.

Guess we all have to do the snow dance!

Trail Report: Boulder Junction, Wisconsin – January 27, 2017

Trail Conditions: Poor

Snow Cover: 8-10

Date of Report: January 27, 2017

Area Report:

Trail report for January 27, 2017-Trails are poor. With the colder temps below freezing at least we are not losing any of our base and the trails have stiffened up. The corners and around town we have bare spots. Our groomers were out this morning and will be out tonight to smooth out the trails for the weekend. The logging areas have very little snow. We have some lake effect snow coming in over the weekend and there may be a snow storm system for the beginning of next week. We need snow and cold weather!!!  Please be careful out there! Remember be safe, ride right, and enjoy the ride.

Trail Report: Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin – January 27, 2017

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 12 inches

Date of Report: January 27, 2017

Area Report:

I took a ride yesterday with Dan Wagner and Mark and was pleasantly surprised by the trail conditions. We received about 2 inches of heavy wet snow Wednesday night with some more forecast each of the next 5 days. We will keep our fingers crossed. Trail 6 from Sunrise Lodge to Land O Lakes was pretty chewed up but not terrible. We then rode some excellent fire roads and jump on 6 east of Phelps and that was good from the Sand Lake Pub thru Phelps. After crossing Twin we rode 30 miles of the Conover trails which were very good and returned on 6 and east of Sunrise it was snow covered and in pretty good shape. Lac Vieux Desert and North Twin were in good shape for riding. Minimal slush.

Trail Report: Rhinelander, Wisconsin – January 26, 2017

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 6-10″ in the woods

Date of Report: January 26, 2017

Area Report:

We are pleasantly surprised to continue to rate the trails as “good”.  There is plenty of snow in the woods, and the roadways are not bare.  The trails came out of the January thaw better than expected.

Riders should be aware of the slush on the lakes.  They could be a little rough as the slush becomes frozen, but will get better with increased traffic.

The groomers are out in full force, and report the trails are flat and they had snow to work with.

Please stay on marked trails.  Join a local club, they can use all the support available.

Trail Report: Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin – January 27, 2017

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 8-10″

Date of Report: January 27, 2017

Area Report:

The Manitowish Waters Sno-Skeeters Snowmobile Club trails are snow covered with a pretty decent base. I would call the trails fair. Road crossings and some exposed areas are getting bare, but we are riding up here. We groomed all of our trail system with the exception of trail 6 from its junction with trail 2 to Winchester trail system.   Use caution in that area, there is one short section that has standing water on top of the ice base.  I walked it this morning and it seemed fine, just proceed cautiously in that area.  We got maybe a half an inch of snow last night.  It Looks like a chance of snow just about every day.

Remember to get your guns and roses tickets, the drawing is Feb 5th at our club breakfast at the Pea Patch 8am – noon
