Trail report for February 1, 2019– Trails are good. The groomers were out last night and early this morning and the trails turned out very nice. With the bitter cold temps and very low traffic the trails are staying rock hard. The corners and other areas remain icy. Please use caution. We are expected to get warmer temps and increased traffic over the weekend. The groomers will be out to do what they can do. Give them a thumbs up when you see them. They are out there to make your ride more enjoyable. During the subzero temps please be aware that cold weather injuries can increase. Don’t ride alone.  Remember to be safe, ride right, and enjoy the ride.

Date of Report: February 1, 2019

Area Report:

As of today the trails are great with 1″ to 2″ of snow last night, but (here it comes again) we are in for a warm up and rain starting on Sunday and going into Monday.  The riding should be good today (Friday) and tomorrow. We are going to CLOSE our trails on Sunday and try to save the base we have built. They are calling for cold weather and snow next week so if everything goes like we plan, everything should be great next weekend. If you are riding STAY ON MARKED TRAILS. Don’t forget to please feed the TRAIL BOXES as it takes fuel to do the grooming we have done.

February 1 2019 6:46am – 14 below zero – High of 13 ABOVE!

It’s 14 below this morning.  But the frigid daytime temps are over!  Riding looks great for Friday & Saturday.  Could get a bit warm on Sunday & Monday.  But hey there is SNOW in the forecast for Monday, Wednesday Thursday!!!  Forecast for 1-3 inches each day but it’s early so stay tuned.

Groomers drivers were out last night for the first time in a few days.

All in all trails are really GOOD but very icy under the Snow.  Pays to slow down.  Straight away. Curves.  Everywhere.  Otherwise trails are in Great Shape!

Sled traffic has been low with the cold temps.  Expect that to change this weekend. Riding this weekend & will have a report of what’s out there.

Worth repeating is that:

Sno-Eagles Country has 2 areas that have one-way trails.  10E is a one-way trail from the ERRA Sports Arena all the way out to Nicolet Mini Mart.  The other is the 13’s up near Buckatabon Bridge & Bauer’s Dam area.  Clearly marked with DO NOT ENTER signs.  Plus trail signs are backwards if you are going the wrong way.

EAGLE LAKE TRAIL & CATFISH LAKE TRAIL ARE MARKED & OPEN. Stay by the reflective orange barrels.

Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 6-12”

Date of Report: February 1, 2019

Area Report:

Here are your current conditions:
The polar vortex is over for now. The trails are flat and fast. Temps in the 20’s this weekend will make for some fantastic ride. All trails are being groomed 4-5 times a week. Trails have a great hard base. A few icy corners ans a few snirty spots, but overall trails in great condition.

Please, slow down and limit your drinking. Way too many fatalities in northern Wisconsin, and they all can be prevented.

Lakes are all marked. Remember, stay as close to the barrels as possible. If you don’t see barrels, assume they are not safe.

Please respect our private landowners and stay on the trail. We have had a couple issues this year already and it always puts our trails in danger.

Use caution at all road crossing as they are icy.

Check our Facebook page for information about the new hoodies and T-shirt’s we have for sale.

Cross Country Cruisers Trail Report 1-31-19 The cold weather has preserved our trails and it looks like we will be in for another busy weekend with plenty of neighboring clubs activities and things to enjoy here in the Northwoods. Trail 3 is very good, trail 5 has improved to good, and trails 6, 10, 11,17,47,51 and the Bear Skin are all good to very good. The Bear Skin is thin on snow close to town but improves as you travel south. Trail 70/10 in town is fair to good. Please stay by the markers when riding on the lakes with the radar runs in St Germain and some area clubs having fund raiser activities going on the trails are likely to become busy! Let’s all be aware of others and ride with caution. The corners have some icy areas so please slow down and stay to the right. Please ride at a pace that you can read the trail signage and have time to adjust to conditions. Let`s all have a great enjoyable and SAFE WEEKEND! Ride Right Ride Safe!!
