Reporter:BayfieldCounty

Trail Conditions: Closed

Snow Cover: 1-2 inch base

Date of Report: January 15, 2024

Area Report:

Well the first big storm of 2024 for Bayfield County was a bust. Of the 12-20 inches predicted, we may have gotten 2-6 depending on where in the county you are. Clubs have been out panning the little snow we have. This cold snap will help freeze everything down, but we still need snow, and lots of it, before trails can open.

Trail Report – : Hayward / Sawyer County, Wisconsin – January 15, 2024

Reporter:haywardlakes

Trail Conditions: Closed

Snow Cover: 0-5

Date of Report: January 15, 2024

Area Report:

Trails remain closed, but just a quick update on lake ice conditions. Many lakes are freezing over as the temps drop but they need some time yet. Nelson Lake and Moose Lake have been staked, however we would highly advise to stay on the staked trail if you take a ride on the lake. Groomers are not out yet as swamps and lakes are making more ice. We will update more officially on Tuesday after a few days of the cold weather.

Proceeds go to our Kubota Trail Groomer. Harrisons is the old Trailside located on trail 17 north of D. Bill and Joy have made an amazing rebuild out of the place. Look forward to seeing you.

Trail Conditions: Closed

Snow Cover: 0-4

Date of Report: January 14, 2024

Snowmobile Information:

It’s was a long, productive day for the White Thunder Rider crew. Conditions and snow totals vary throughout our trail system. 15″ on the high side by Oma and Saxon to 4″ near Lake Superior. The soft areas are not frozen, and seem to need breaking in order to freeze with these single-digit temps. Hopefully we get more snow in the days ahead to secure this base before traffic.  Trails remain CLOSED at this time.  Check back for regular updates!
