Date of Report: September 6, 2021

Area Report:

This morning it is 54 degrees, and the fall tinge is in the air. Wanted to test out my link, and put out the word that winter is coming, and snowmobile clubs need you. From brush clearing, to bridge and road repair, to signing and grooming, a great group of volunteers make it happen every year. It is a great way to learn how the trails you ride on, are put there to be enjoyed. You also meet a lot of great people around the state. The Northern Hornshoes are currently selling raffle tickets at various establishments, and we will also have a booth at the Wild Rice Festival in Lac Du Flambeau September 18, 2021, and also at the Minoqua Beef Festival September 25. Stop and see us. There will be club membership information available. Mark

Trail Report – : Kenosha County, Wisconsin – March 13, 2021

Reporter:Nick

Trail Conditions: Closed

Snow Cover: Zero !

Date of Report: March 13, 2021

Area Report:

Well folks it looks like ita all over but the shouting. It was a banner year will many firsts

  1. we had over 30 days of contiuous snowmobiling in Kenosha County
  2. Our groomers spent over 200 hours of combined grooming time.
  3. The Twin Runners Club received approval for an addtional 9 miles of  funded trails.
  4. The DNR reported that they rode over 243 mies patrolling the trails.
    1. 134 contacts were made (this includes all conatct with riders)
    2. 11 citations …most of which were safty violations
    3. 38 warnings were issued

Unfortuantely not a first, we have been bothered by tresspassing again this year. Not only in Kenoshga County

but statewide.  In fact it has become so troubling that the AWSC and the DNR are working together to try and find a solution for the epidemic.  Kenosha County’s inability to connect with the Racine County east of I 94 is a direct result of tresspassing. This hurts us all. If you see it speak up !   Report it !  Constantly remind people of the cost to all.

Have a safe summer ! See you in the fall

Trail Report – : Iron County, Michigan – March 11, 2021

Trail Conditions: Early Season

Snow Cover: 6 – 8 inches

Date of Report: March 11, 2021

Area Report:

Trails are really starting to break up now… lots of sun and some rain have pretty much done them in for the season.

Was a very short season this year for snowmobiling.. now it’s time to move ahead to the next season.  Time to start thinking about your fishing gear.. campers.. bikes and atv’s.  This is the best thing about the U.P. no matter what time of year it is.. there is ALWAYS something to do.  🙂

Hope to see yawl next winter on the trails…. until then have a “Safe & Wonderful” year.  😉
