Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 11 to 12

Date of Report: January 16, 2024

Area Report:

Trails are OPEN and are in good condition. We have started to groom and will try to stay at it. We did have 11″ of snow and the trails have plenty of snow on them but we also had a lot of wind so there is drifting out so ride safe. Don’t forget to feed the trail boxes when you stop at one of our businesses. If you need lodging the Baymont of Freeport has given us a snowmobile rate at $80 per night plus tax call 815-656-4632 and ask for snowmobile rate

Trail Report – : Iron County, Michigan – January 15, 2024

Reporter:Colleen

Trail Conditions: Not Ridable

Snow Cover: 8-10 inches

Date of Report: January 15, 2024

Area Report:

Hey everyone, sorry for delay in updating Iron County’s trail report.  I took a couple weeks off with the low snowfall early on in January this year. Currently, I would say we have about 8-10 inches of snow depending where you are at and how the wind blew this past weekend with the storm.  Groomers have panned a few of the trails but really not enough snow to do much with out there yet.  Extremely cold temps through this week and weekend… sounds like a little warmer temps going into next week again.

So we’re all hoping for more snow as soon as possible to get out on the trails and kick up some snow.  I will update the report in a few days to keep everyone up to date on our area.

News and Reports:

With the extreme cold snap this week… lakes should be looking pretty good for the ice fisherman that may be looking to come up and do some ice fishing this weekend. Also, don’t forget – Michigan’s “FREE” Fishing Weekend 17th & 18th, 2024.

Free Michigan Snowmobile Dates for (2024) – February 9th, 10th and 11th, 2024. No permits or license needed for the dates listed above.

Don’t forget Iron County has a wonderful Ski Hill which is open and going strong! Be sure to check them out online as well.

We sure hope to see everyone soon this winter season. It’s “Our Time” to play!!  🙂
