Expect ALL Conditions

March 5, 2022 – 7:47am – 28 – High 36 – Low 23

Winter Weather Advisory in effect.  Sleet right now 6 miles east of Eagle River freezing as it hits the ground.  Forecast for the sleet off & on until around noon.  Then a window of no precip.  Followed by yep rain.  Looked at 3 different app’s & amount is different on all so let’s wait & see.  The best news is 23 tonight & in the low teens or single digits at night for the week to 10 days.  SNOW on Thursday.

If you are riding today it’s going to be interesting unless you have a heated shield. So recommend not going out.  Trails are in Adventure Sledding condition.  Meaning all conditions.  Icy in many areas & not just the corners. It is very easy to lose control. So please slow down.

Groomer Tracking Systems (GTS) shows groomers back out grooming last nightGroomer/s left the groomer barn & head north on 10/13 to Hwy G which is just beyond the Derby Track.   Also headed south thru town & groomed all the way to the Three Lakes Trails connect.

The Clubs of Vilas County work very hard to secure easements from private landowners & folks we are losing many due to off trail riding.  So PLEASE NO OFF TRAIL RIDING.

Catfish & Eagle lake trails marked & OPEN. Stay by the orange reflective barrels. Surface slush with the sun is possible. DO NOT think the entire lake is safe.  Several sleds have gone in the water this season far from the barrels.

Please KEEP DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!  And THINK COLD would be good too!

Putting lipstick on Pig for today’s report hope to See ya on the Trails Soon!
