Trail Conditions: Fair
Snow Cover: 8-9
Date of Report: January 29, 2021
Area Report:
The weekend is upon us already so that means it’s time to play! The great news is trails throughout the whole county are groomed! We’ve had some cold weather and last week we got a bit of snow that was very helpful so all county groomers were out this week so now you have the whole county to choose from! The groomers report most trails are hard, flat and fast! The cool temps helped set our base and allowed from groomers to cut and pan to make flat trails. We could always use more snow (in Dec-March that is!) Trails are all snow covered and are reported from good to fair, a bit better the more north you go. Fresh snow doesn’t show to be in the forecast until Sunday, we very much welcome it when it comes. If you should encounter some overheating due to the hard packed trails make sure to find some loose snow (staying on trails of course) and cool your sled. Or ice scratcher are always a good investment!
Groomed trails reported:
9 to the Tuscobia
5 south from Winter to corridor 27 to Rusk Co line (Rusk Co closed so trail will stop at county line)
40 and 25 by Loretta
5 from Tuscobia to Fish Trap
Wolfs Eagle Lodge to Tuscobia
6
Seeley Hills to Nelson Lake (31, 77, 5,
9 from Round Lake to 3/5 to Lost Land to Moose Lake
18 to the bridge has been groomed a few times but there is a steep hill to the swamp that has made it difficult to get through. This is a new trail volunteers worked hard to get approved and made so they will continue to improve it (thank you crew for getting this new section!)
All lakes are staked and good, no reported issues but please stay on staked trail for your safety.
Surrounding counties: Ashland, Bayfield, Washburn, Price open. Barron partially opened. Rusk closed.
While we need some fresh snow you should still find lots of riding this weekend with amazing places along the trails to stop! Have a great weekend and ride safe!
