LINCOLN COUNTY: With exceptions, ZONE 1 of Lincoln County opens at 3pm Friday, December 23, 2022.

Zone 1 trails remaining closed are as follows: Portions of Trail 86 and Corridor 19 located south of Hwy 86. Corridor 17 south of the Park and Ride at intersection #30 will remain closed.

All trails in Zones 2, 3, and 4 will remain closed at this time.

Trails are in rough early season condition. Watch for downed branches and trees. Stay off lakes and rivers until trails have been clearly marked by clubs. If a body of water is not marked, it is considered unsafe.

ATVs are not allowed on trails for one week after official opening, and then only when temperatures are below 28F.

ONEIDA COUNTY: All trails in the Oneida County Funded Snowmobile Trail System (as administered by the Oneida County Forestry, Land, & Recreation Department) will officially open for the winter season at 8:00 am on Friday, December 23, 2022.

All lake and river trails in Oneida County are considered unsafe and should not be utilized until they have been clearly marked by a local snowmobile club. 

With the anticipated winter storm, including high winds and blowing snow going into the Christmas holiday weekend, please use extreme caution while riding. Downed trees and low hanging branches may be encountered. The trails are in rough, early season condition.

As always, the Oneida County Forestry, Land, & Recreation Department reminds riders to stay on marked trails. Off trail riding is trespassing and could result in closure or loss of trails and citations and fines for those who participate.
