Date of Report: December 20, 2019
Most Washburn County Snowmobile Trails are open at this time with a base of 8 to 15 inches providing good riding conditions. Washburn County trail clubs have been working hard to provide as much riding opportunity as possible for the holidays. Trail #34 near the Barron County line is closed at this time. All other Washburn County Snowmobile trails are open.
Please note that lake ice is not safe at this time, including Long Lake and the Spider Lake Chain. Swamps and wet areas on the trail system are generally frozen now. However, caution is advised as many of these wet areas will have rough ice crossings. Some wet areas will not have been groomed with heavy equipment yet. Also, please be aware that constant trail grooming will be occurring throughout the holiday week.
