Trail Report – : Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan – February 26, 2019

Trail Conditions: Good
Snow Cover: Base of 5"
Date of Report: February 26, 2019
Area Report:

After a blast of frozen weather and a fierce blizzard, our trails have been groomed to good to excellent condition. New snow from this weekend’s storm along with high winds have created drifts that have opened up new areas. By all indications, this is the most snow on the ground we’ve had in several years.

Remember trail base is the amount of snow between your track and the ground below not the amount of fluff piled up in the woods.  Ten inches of snow compresses to less than an inch on the trail.
