Snowmobile Information:
VILAS COUNTY TRAILS ARE CLOSED. VILAS COUNTY TRAILS CAN NEVER OPEN BEFORE DECEMBER 15. There, I said it. I guess an angry mob stormed president Keith’s house after my last flowery report, with their torches and pitchforks, demanding the trails open, since the man on the trail got them all worked up. After Keith calmed them down, and they left, he discovered they scared his wife so bad she locked him out on the deck, and turned up the volume to Wheel of Fortune. Fear has a different effect on each of us, I guess. On a serious note, we do have some great snow, but the initial snows were wet, and heavy. We have a lot of downed trees. We are sending out damage control teams today, Tuesday, and tomorrow, Wednesday. If we are able to get our bushwhackin’ done, we are putting together a crew to help our good friends Mercer Sno-Goers. (I also belong to Mercer Club.) Great people. The only way we get great trails is by a lot of volunteer time, and covering each others backs. If you don’t belong to a club, please join one. If you can help, please do. It is great exercise, and the more hands we have, the faster it goes. Plus, we have fun. Or, consider a donation. Grooming funds only help cover a part of operating expenses, the rest comes from fundraising and donations. So don’t have short arms and deep pockets, dig out a few drachma for the team.
