Area Report:

Sorry it took me so long to update the report this week, it has been a long couple of weeks!  All trails are still open and being groomed.  There is a good base on the trails, even going thru town.  Crossing roads and some parking lots are bare, but most still have some snow in them. Today will be too warm to groom during the day, but it is plenty cold at night for grooming.  Today will be warm, trails will get sloppy, but after today they will be back in order.  Temps will be cooler starting tomorrow and a few inches of snow each day.  Pray for a little Canadian clipper to come across the big lake and drop some lake effect on us!  There are a ton of riders in town, its going to be another busy, busy weekend in the Keweenaw out on the trails.

Please slow down and enjoy your riding.  There are a lot of people out there and there is no reason to be flying around the corners or down the trails.  Respect private property and other riders on the trails. Stay off of the water.  The canal between Houghton and Hancock is not safe for riding.  No one wants to be dragged out of the water and pay a bunch of money to get their sled out.  Really ruins a vacation.  Save the drinking for after the riding.  Stay sober out on the trails.

Have fun out there,

Tammi the Trail Goddess
