Area Report:

Hello Riders!

Much of the county received rain last night into the early hours this morning. Some in the county did get a wintery mix so they got a bit of wet, heavy snow. Areas of the Chippewa Flowage received about an inch and a half to two inches of wet snow. The southern part of the county received rain and do not have good riding conditions yet. Again, the lakes and wooded trails in the center part of the county going north had pretty good snow that has now gotten a bit slushy with today’s warmer temps but the good news is the temps will drop back down tonight and will hold below freezing for the rest of the week so the lakes and woods will freeze back up. The open trails do have bare spots as well as some bare spots in the woods. Riders today coming from the north and traveling through the Seeley Hills, Flowage and back to the north are pleasantly surprised! Most certainly is rideable out there! Again, temps will drop down and stay down this week. We will update again after everything freezes back up and more reports come in. Snow is in the forecast early next week and no big melt down anywhere in the near future.

Bayfield and Price counties are open. Washburn and Ashland are partially open. Barron and Rusk are closed.

ATV/UTV trails are also open in Sawyer County in the winter. A few areas do have some closures and those are listed on the map.

Thank you to all club members and to all of you that make Sawyer County your riding destination!
