EAGLE RIVER TRAILS
Very Good to Excellent
Trails have plenty of SNOW & in great shape. Sun did come out later yesterday afternoon & soften SNOW. Was 15 overnight so after grooming trails set up great. Some SNOW off & on today and tomorrow into Friday morning. Maybe an inch or 2 over the 3 days. START DOIN’ A SNOW DANCE! Friday night temps will drop into single digits. Temps are forecast to be in the single digits during the day & below zero at night until Monday, February 6. Snows not going anywhere.
Groomers doing a fantastic job this season. Early panning built the base of ice that held up for the most part during the past major warm up. Last night groomed from the groomer barn:
10W/13N heading north to 17N intersection
17N to 3N aka Manske Swamp intersection
3N heading west to 10W/13N intersection
10W/13S heading south through Eagle River to intersection with 10E
10E all the way to Three Lakes connect – to include trail to Chanticleer Inn & Eagle Lake & 9 mile trail that connects to Three Lakes
70W/13 west from behind the Dairy Queen/Super 8 to the St. Germain connect at Wood Duck Lane.
Found great riding in all directions. Road & driveway crossings all have high banks. Really a good idea to stop at the stop signs. Also softer SNOW brings blow outs in the corners & they are very icy.
Do know Eagle & Catfish Lake trails still have drifts & surface slush off the marked trail so please stay by the orange reflective barrels. Remember not all lakes are safe.
NOTE: Off of Trail 70W after entering St. Germain is a trail locals call “The Goat” trail. It is a Club Trail that starts at TIN 287 to TIN 288 that is CLOSED. It is clearly marked as CLOSED with fencing & signs. Please do not ride through this area from either direction. DO NOT RIDE ON HWY 70 as this is not legal.
On snowmobile designated road routes need to follow the speed limit set for the road for all vehicles.
Last, off trail riding is a big problem. PLEASE STAY ON THE TRAIL & Take the Snowmobilers Pledge.
Keep DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!! THINK COLD!
See ya on the trails real soon!
