All in all trails are Great!
Heat wave this morning. It’s 4 degrees on they way to 15! Today might be a great day to ride! It’s SNOWING lightly too. Weather guys calling for about 1/2 inch. Then down go the temps. Double digit below zero at night until next Tuesday. During the day single digit highs EXCEPT Friday & Saturday. 12 below for a high on Friday & 2 below for a high Saturday. No new SNOW in the forecast.
SNOW not going anywhere with the COLD. It will get crusty & what I call fast, meaning slippery. Slow down everywhere as you ride.
If you ride during the cold snap be sure to tell someone where you are riding; don’t ride alone; fully charged phone; dress in layers; tell someone where you are headed; stop more often to warm up & drink warm drinks, refrain from drinking alcohol. Heated gloves, socks & vests or jackets under your snowmobile jacket would good too. Last BE SURE YOUR SLED GAS TANK IS FULL to prevent frosting in the tank.
GTS Tracking shows almost a full grooming session. To make it easy, here are the trails NOT groomed overnight:
Trail 10E & spurs to Chanticleer & Eagle Lake trail; Grampa Graham(Trl 1) &
9mile Trail that connects to Three Lakes Trails
Trail 1 that runs toward Eagle Lake from the north.
Trail updates
The Wisconsin River Bridge section of 10/13 is frozen & very rough. Do not go off the trail. Not safe.
Reminder that Trail 13S does not run all the way to Three Lakes as a portion was closed. Club is working on a re route.
Eagle Lake was marked by businesses. Safety lights at entrance & exit from/to the lake trail have been installed.
Catfish Lake is NOT MARKED. Uncertain it will open as there are no businesses open on the lake this winter. If you have not ridden the lake in the past DO NOT ATTEMPT at night. There are spots that can be thin or even open water.
