GOOD TO EXCELLENT RIDING

Are you ready to ride?  Trails are in Good to Excellent condition!  Right in town trails are GOOD.  West GOOD to VERY GOOD.  As you head north, south or east trails get better & better.  VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT.  Might be some sun today so let’s see if the road sections stay SNOW covered.

Today is Wednesday so that means a Sno-Eagles Trail Ride!  Meet at 9am at the Historic Railroad Depot in town.  Ron should be your guide.

Grooming last night with the BR-180 Bombardier & the Tucker.  All of 10E to include 9 mile & Chanticleer spurs, 10W, 13N, 3N, 7 & 17N

  • On Trail 1N the logging operation continues in the section between the Town of Washington Town Hall & Eagle Lake.  Clearly marked with signs.
  • Wisconsin River Trail – 10W/13N  & Manske Swamp – 3N There are rough spots but it is frozen tight. All SNOW covered

CATFISH LAKE LOOP & EAGLE LAKE TRAILS ARE NOW BOTH MARKED AND OFFICIALLY OPEN.  PLEASE STAY BY THE BARRELS TO BE SAFE.  VERY HARD SURFACE.  NO SLUSH.  REMINDER THE CATFISH LAKE LOOP TO LUMPY’S IS NO LONGER A TRAIL.

Didn’t get out yesterday but my husband Tom did.  Rode Trail 10E into the “grade” & then took some street routes. Also took the Trigs trail into town using some of the street routes.  Streets are open to sleds with a few exceptions.  They are Pine Street which is actually the Hwy 45 by pass, from Silver Lake Rd to Railroad St and Railroad St.  Otherwise you are good to go.  Yesterday all streets he rode were snow covered.  Both sides of 10E needed grooming by yesterday afternoon.  Good they groomed it.

If you are riding zip on over to the “grade” to check out the 2018 Eagle River Area Fire Department ICE CASTLE!!!!  Located adjacent to the downtown “grade” trail by the Historic Railroad Grade.  The lights installed change colors. Ice benches as part of the Castle let you take photos of your group.  Check out this link Eagle River Ice Castle to check out more photos.  Darn pretty!

Congratulations to Justin Ernst from Rhinelander, WI on his Vintage Championship win! Thursday begins the World Championship Derby.  For more information check out DerbyTrack.com
