All in all trails are Very Good
One those weather years. La Nina WINTER. With Polar Vortex disruption. Big deal right? Yep these 2 bring COLD & SNOW! Today it will be 37 for a high & 20 tonight. Sleet in parts of Eagle River & west. SNOW in parts of Eagle River & east. Then temps will drop. By Sunday the 18th high will be 5 & low 5 below. In between SNOW off & on. Thursday through Saturday best chance for SNOW but only 2-3 inches. Always a chance of Lake Effect SNOW especially east of Eagle River. No evil sun! Trails should be fine.
GTS Tracking shows spot grooming last night. From the groomer barn heading north on 10/13 to Trail 3N to Trail 17N. Heading direction toward Phelps. Also Trail 1 to the Eagle Lake Boat Launch. Does show Trail 10E but it was NOT groomed. Volunteers were doing brushing of low hanging trees & branches.
Couple of notices:
Trail 10/13 the section call the Wisconsin River Bridge has been TEMPORARILY CLOSED. Heavy slush at the approaches & water on top of the ice. This begins at Trail 3N west to Trail 13 at Deep Lake Rd. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RIDE THROUGH THERE. THE AREA IS GATED OFF. Do NOT enter that area.
Reminder that Trail 13S does not run all the way to Three Lakes as a portion was closed. Club is working on a re route.
Eagle Lake was marked by businesses. Safety lights at entrance & exit from/to the lake trail have been installed.
Catfish Lake is NOT MARKED. Uncertain it will open as there are no businesses open on the lake this winter.
