EARLY SEASON RIDING – Poor to Fair
Longer report to help you find riding

Happy New Year! Schiff of SNOW this AM. Temps are still hovering around 30 during the day until Wednesday. High teens & 20’s at night. There is potential for SNOW beginning very late Monday into Tuesday.  Totals will depend on how quickly the temperatures drop.  Should know more on Monday.  Stay tuned.

As for the trails….it’s Adventure sledding. Trails north are much better than south trails.  Trail 13/13C the Bauers trails are in pretty good shape. Lots of tree cover.  Head north out of town on 10/13 all the way to the turn that takes you over the Wisconsin River Bridge area.  Once crossing the bridge it will be a rough.  At the 10/13 intersection on the other side of the bridge head north (right turn) that will get you to the better trails. No report on 17N that branches off of 10/13 in town.  Assume it’s icy, rough & thin as it has lots of open areas.

Heading south through town are icy & burn through at the road crossings. Road routes are ice covered. The grade just past dairy Queen is under tree cover & should be pretty good. Heading south to Three Lakes is covered in most areas & icy with some mushy areas.  Heading east on 10E will be ragged until you get to the Hockey Sports Arena along Hwy 70E.  The one way heading east on the south side of road is fair to good from there except for road crossings.  Heading back on the north side icy snow cover until just past the trail that takes you to Chanticleer & Eagle Lake. From there it is poor with little snow cover.  Riding west of town same conditions along Hwy 70W.

Groomer were out last night with the temps dropping.  When they complete this morning with the except of a few spur sections the entire system will be groomed. Remember these drivers are doing the best they can with the hard icy conditions.

NOTE – DEERVIEW LANE SECTION OF TRAIL 1N THAT HEADS TO EAGLE LAKE HAS HEAVY TRUCK TRAFFIC.  Slow down & be aware.

Eagle & Catfish Lake trails are open & marked.   Take it slow.  Hard ice & surface slush pockets particularly on the turn that takes you off the lake to Townline Rd. Stay by the orange reflective barrels to be safe.

Some reminders when you ride. Please no off trail riding & stop at driveways.  Also as you ride you might meet a groomer.   They are big & can’t pull over for us.  So pull over & let the driver direct you.  And oh ya give ’em a thumbs up.  They groom so we can ride!!!

Keep DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!!

See ya on the trails real soon!!
