Early Season Riding with POOR to FAIR conditions
January 1, 2019 9:21am 10 degrees – Sunny this morning- High 0f 15 today.
Very happy to see Lake Effect Snow last night. Not a lot fell but hey will take it. More than a schiff but not an inch.
That rain last week turned into a saver for the trails. It got cold after the rain & made a hard frozen base. Right now with all the traffic over the holiday weekend the trails would be in really bad shape without that ice base on the trails. There are areas with snirt & looking pretty well ridden. And areas that are still SNOW covered, mostly in the woods. That would be heading due north & east.
Remember that ice base make the entire trail slippery not only in the corners but everywhere. So best to slow down.
It was warmer last night & early on there was some sleet. So no grooming overnight.
EAGLE LAKE TRAIL & CATFISH LAKE TRAIL ARE MARKED & OPEN. Stay by the reflective orange barrels. Remember not all lakes have trails so if you don’t see marker do not ride on it to be safe.
Sure do need more SNOW so……start or continue DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!
Happy New Year & see ya on the trails!
