They are saying 40 tomorrow so Mother Nature will not be our friend. 1-3 inches of snow predicted Thur night and it will be welcomed. All Frosty Club trails are being groomed tonight. Reporter:snobuddies

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 10-16”

Date of Report: February 7, 2023

Area Report:

All trails are being groomed tonight as I post this at 9pm. Last night the East side was not groomed due to a breakdown on one unit. It has been repaired and back out Tuesday night.
With the warmer day time temps, trails were soft. Cold temps tonight should firm up grooming, but Wednesday temps are suppose to get above freezing. That will soften the snow again. I’m going to down grade the conditions from excellent to Very Good but trails can change quickly on Wednesday.
We won’t be grooming on Wednesday with the higher temps.

News and Reports:

If you find a condition that you need to report to the Conover Sno-Buddies like a down tree, water on the trail, etc, either message us on Facebook, use the contact page on our website, or even notify a local establishment. They know how to get a hold of us to fix the issue.

  • A reminder to ride between the orange blazers. Along Hwy K West, there were several 100 trees removed this summer to place new electric poles. Most of the stumps are still there. If you were to hit one, it could ruin your trip quickly. Ride Right ➡️ Ride Safe.
  • To see where the Groomer is at, check out  Groomer Tracker  Half the cost of the app comes back to Conover Sno-Buddies to support grooming operations.

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 12-18 inches

Date of Report: February 7, 2023

Area Report:

Great weekend with lots of riders… trail system held up well… people were very happy and saw groomers and operators out all weekend long. Temps started to come up on Saturday which made the riding much nicer as well.

Such a swing in temps this coming week compared to last weeks temperatures… Wednesday is going to be the warmest day.. but then Thursday is cooling off again with a good chance of snow on Thursday afternoon and evening again.

Currently, the trails are in good to very good condition… groomers and operators in both clubs are out grooming daily.  Thank you guys for doing such a “Great Job” of grooming and keeping the trails smooth.

Very Good Condition on – Trail #2, Trail #16, Trail #116, Trail #107, Trail #113, Trail #18, Trail 15 S.

Good to Very Good Condition – Trail #111 to Sidnaw

Trail 15N to intersection of trail #111 remains closed with the bridge being out

Again, you can ride in any direction at this time… it should be a busy weekend on the trails.  Michigan’s “Free Snowmobile” weekend is this Saturday & Sunday.. so be prepared for lots of traffic.

Be sure to give the Groomers plenty of room when you meet them on the trail and a BIG “Thumbs Up” goes a long way too.  🙂

Hope y’all have a great time on the trails.. and be safe!  🙂

Trail Report – : Sayner, Wisconsin – February 7, 2023

Reporter:SaynerStar Lake Barnstormers

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 8″ +

Date of Report: February 7, 2023

Area Report:

The trails have been holding up quite well, even with the lack of good snow.  Most trails remain flat, but corners are getting more icy and difficult to navigate.

The Barnstormers took a break from grooming yesterday & today in order to catch up on some maintenance.  Traffic has slowed considerably since the weekend, so we’re still in pretty good shape.  The weather this week is bringing us some unwelcome warmer temps.  As I write this, it is 34 degrees and mostly sunny.  Tomorrow is forecast to hit 40 degrees.  We don’t expect highs below freezing until Friday, when there is a chance of light snow.

We’ll resume grooming tomorrow unless the warmer temps keep us off the trails.  In that case, we’d start again on Thursday.

Our groomers had a couple incidences this past weekend where sleds nearly hit us.  Folks, our equipment is lit up like the city of Chicago!  How can you not see us in plenty of time to slow down?  We might sound like a broken record, but PLEASE slow down and be aware of the conditions.  Save your speed for the lakes.  Stay safe on the trails!

TRAIL CLOSURE NOTICE:  Due to ongoing logging operations, the Barnstormer’s trail #51 is CLOSED between TIN 344 and 353!  DO NOT RIDE THIS SECTION OF TRAIL!

Mark your calendars for the final Barnstormer Fundraising Event of the season!

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 10+

Date of Report: February 7, 2023

Area Report:

Washburn County snowmobile trails are open and in great shape. Please be cautious of soft spots along the trails as we have had slightly warmer temperatures, however, this should not have any major effects on the groomed base. Remember to ride with caution and stay on designated trail surfaces. Clubs are out grooming and maintaining the trails on a regular basis, so please use caution when you encounter grooming equipment.

Groomers have been out and trails are in good condition. Watch for rough and icy stretches, especially over roads and at corners. Continue to keep to marked trails only, especially on waterways.

EAGLE RIVER TRAILS
Good

Trail conditions are mostly Good with some Very Good but are very icy under the very soft SNOW due to the typical February warm up.  That combination makes your sled slip around a lot.  Very icy corners. Please remember to RIDE RIGHT & SLOW DOWNWith the changing conditions you can get into trouble quickly. The level of traffic is not what it was over the weekend but there are large groups riding.

Did SNOW last night but most was sleet early with snow after the temps came down.  A schiff of SNOW this morning, which is less than an inch.  More SNOW in the northern part of Vilas County. February warm up 30’s during the day.  20’s at night.  Forecast for SNOW Thursday night.  Time for a THINK COLD & a SNOW DANCE!

Did not ride yesterday.  Did ride this weekend along with lots of others.  Highest traffic I’ve seen in a while.  Trails all in all were very good in the AM until early afternoon.  One thing I am seeing is off trail riding.  This is illegal & is making it hard to keep the trails open.  Plenty of loose SNOW on the trails so no need to dip off.

As for grooming here is last night’s into this morning’s grooming report:

  • Heading south – Trail 10/13 through town.  South on Alt13S to Three Lakes connect.
  • Heading north – Trail 10W/13N to 17N intersection.  Heading north on 17N to Trail 3N aka Manske Swamp intersection.  NOTE the rest of 10W/13N was groomed to the Conover connect.  Trail 3N west to 10W/13N intersection & north crossing the Wisconsin River Bridge section of 10W/13N.  At the west end of the Wisconsin River Bridge both 10W & 7 that intersects with 10W all groomed.  Heading north on 13N all groomed.

Eagle & Catfish Lake trails are marked.  Please stay by the orange reflective barrels. Surface is very hard with moguls. With the warm up surface slush will develop at some point. SLOW DOWN. Remember not all lakes are safe.

Again, off trail riding is a big problem.  PLEASE STAY ON THE TRAIL & Take the Snowmobilers Pledge.

Keep DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!!  Slow down & Ride Safe!
