Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  Opening day is this Sunday and hoping that everyone is getting excited??   We have about 1-2″ of snow on the ground, but coupled with below freezing temp’s – thing’s are freezing up pretty tight.

We’re still a little gun shy from last season about sharing potential snow.  However, we are under a Winter advisory with the potential for a good storm system impacting us over the next several days. 🤞If we get 10″to 12″ we will start setting and packing trails.

The Bridge on 13s has been repaired and that trail will be open. We will update if conditions change and Bully’s start to turn track’s!

Think snow ❄️❄️❄️

Winter has arrived in Eagle River!

3-4 inches of wet packy SNOW.   Ground isn’t frozen yet so some of it melted before it started to stick.  The best news is the temps have really dropped.  For the next 2 weeks the night time temps will be in the low to mid teens every night.  During the day with the exception of tomorrow day time highs will be in mid to low 20’s, so the ground will be freezing up.

In the meantime Clubs through Vilas County are prepping for the upcoming season!  The 9 Gun Deer season ends December 1.  Then there is a 10 day muzzleloader season followed by a 4 day youth hunt.  So the earliest trails can open is December 16.  Parks & Rec Supervisor will begin trail inspection some time after December 2nd.  Hopefully by sled, but might be by truck or UTV.

As for Sno-Eagles, still working on:

      Verifying trail easements
Working on re routes – seems to be a lot of those in recent seasons
      Brushing & limbing branches
      Signing
      Working on grooming equipment

Reminder – It’s time to renew your membership and purchase your discounted Trail Pass from the AWSC.  Sno-Eagles  AWSC Click on these links to do both

Keep THINKING COLD.  Next week start DOIN’ A SNOW DANCE!

Won’t be long now!   See ya the trails in mid-December!!

News and Reports:

It has started to snow, with 1-3″ today and another couple possible through tomorrow from lake effect. Then the temperture is suppose to drop. We need that cold to freeze the trails, marshes, and lakes. So far, nothing above freezing for the next 10 days. I’ll report back if we get out to do some panning in the next few weeks.

Now is the time to get your club membership and sleds registered. It won’t be long till we are ridding that white ribbon down the trails.

Trail Report – : Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin – November 15, 2024

Reporter:Toulish1

Trail Conditions: Unknown

Snow Cover: Stay Tuned, next week may have some excitement.

Date of Report: November 15, 2024

Snowmobile Information:

We had another successful day in Northern Hornshoe land brushing, and signing. You will not recognize our trails in some areas. A special Thank You to the Lac Du Flambeau Tribe, for an astonishing transformation to trail 17 in the Raven Lake area. Wide open, and amazing corners. There were a lot of tight corners that would blow out, and build steep banks that needed a lot of work each night to flatten out. It’s a whole new ball game in that area. Trail 1 from East Boundary up to Gresham Lodge also has a new face. Pick some rocks, move some brush, and voila. Also note that the club trail from Crawling Stone has been rerouted. The trail ends at Crawling Stone now. The Hornshoe calendar raffle continues to draw daily. Catch us on Facebook each day as we draw the lucky winners. Always remember, trails don’t just appear out of a snow bank, and even though we get some funding, it does not go a long way. Hundreds of volunteers put in countless hours of hard work, and fundraisers like ours go to new equipment and signs that make this area some of the greatest riding there is. Hope to see you soon, and hope to make a SNOW report in the near future. Mark
