Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 2 to 4 inches

Date of Report: February 1, 2018

Area Report:

HI…I will still rate the trail as GOOD.

Even though the snow is thin, our groomer guys have done a fantastic job.  Pulling in snow from each side has helped.  The colder temperatures are helping also.  The trail is in GOOD shape.  Beware of icy corners.

We are expecting lots of traffic this weekend.  Please proceed with caution.

Now…I’m going for a ride.  See you on the trail…

Area Report:

BRRR, its cold outside today.  But that is certainly not stopping all the riders out there on the trails today!!  It’s very windy, with new snow falling today.  We only got an inch or 2 overnight, with 6 inches forecasted today.  More snow in the forecast tomorrow with a little warmer temps than today, high of 8!  Snow is also in the forecast for Saturday and temps for the next week or so look to be in the high single digits to the low double digits.  Trails are going to be busy, busy for the next few weeks.

Our snow isn’t going anywhere soon.  All trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open and being groomed.  Nothing is closed to logging at this time.

Remember when you are out there on the trails to respect private property and others on the trails, stay on the marked, groomed trail, slow down and enjoy the scenery, stay off the ice, no ice is safe ice, and save the drinking for after the driving!!

See you out on the trails,

Trail Report – : Sugar Camp, Wisconsin – February 1, 2018

Reporter:Matt Winters

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 4″-6″

Date of Report: February 1, 2018

Area Report:

The sugar camp trail system is in fair/good riding conditions. The recent warm spell this past week in the 40’s left some burn through from the sun & snirty conditions. The further in the woods trails you go the better they will be. Use caution in all corners and hills as there is a very icy base underneath. Some drifting has occurred in fields & lake crossings so maintain reasonable speeds while crossing fields & stay close to the orange barrels on last crossings. Going to be very cold here this weekend with highs struggling to get above zero & lows at night in the teens below zero so put on a few more layers of clothes before riding the great trails in the northwoods. Always remember that all intersections have a 3 digit number on them for your safety in case of emergency to pinpoint your exact location for emergency personnel and remember nighttime speed limits of 55mph.Support local clubs and businesses they can use the help. United we trail divided we fail!

Trail Report – : Cable, Wisconsin – January 31, 2018

Reporter:officecoordinator@cable4fun.com

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 3-5″ base

Date of Report: January 31, 2018

Area Report:

Check your local lodging and dining establishments for the
2018 Cable Area Motor Head Maps!

Trails are currently in fair condition with a 3-5” base. The warm up last Friday turned some corners to ice. Groomers were out over the weekend and hit the entire system, smoothing out as much as possible.

Temps will be below freezing overnight through the weekend, and hovering near single digits during the day.

We do have a couple areas that are going to continue to be of concern. One being Trail 90 at Old Grade and Federal Road due to heavy logging traffic. They are running trucks in and out Old Grade and Federal Rd. Both roads are marked as detour for trail 90, however the townships had to plow so the trucks can meet each other.

Another area of caution is trail 15 North of Club Lake Rd. Water from a spring continues to weep out of the hillside where the trail had to be rebuilt last year causing ice down and across the trail.
