Trail Conditions: Closed

Snow Cover: 8-10”

Area Report:

We got 8-10” of heavy wet snow in our area overnight. The ground is wet with some spots not frozen and some places have standing water. Sorry to say that it is likely the trails are going to remain closed and are likely closed for the season. We will post if anything changes but at this point/ time of the year it seems very unlikely. Riding on closed trails is trespassing and can result in citations.  Thank you.

Boulder Junction Snowmobile Club Trail Report – Friday, 3/10/2023

At 8:00 a.m. it’s 24 degrees out with light snow falling and a high of 24 degrees today.

We received 2”-3” of new snow last night and we groomed our entire trail system last night and early this morning.

Our trails are in good to very good condition and riding today should be great. Our club ride on Wednesday took the Boulder, Manitowish, Mercer, Presque Isle loop and all the trails were in very good condition with the exception of Trail 6 going east out of Presque Isle which was sun exposed and getting thin on snow.

With cooler temps and 5”- 8” of snow predicted from Saturday night into Monday morning, our trails should be in good shape through next week.

Enjoy our trails and local businesses this week and as always “Ride Right” and be safe.

Late Season Riding – Poor to Good

2 inches of SNOW overnight and snowing right now.  Next SNOW Saturday night & most of the day Sunday.  Looks like 5 inches +- more new SNOW.  Wet and packy. Trails in Late Season Riding condition.  And change quickly.  Corners icy & have blow outs. Very soft & wet in town. Woods riding is still really Good. Daytime temps highs in high 20’s to low 30’s so get out early for best riding. Teens or lowers at night.  Haven’t been riding with the warm up. Going out Saturday.  Will report later Saturday afternoon.

No grooming last tonight. Grooming will resume when there is enough new SNOW.  Check back.

With the number of accidents & fatalities this season remind you when riding:

When you come upon a group of sleds in front of you on the trail.  Passing them can get you in trouble.   Have been seeing this all winter.  When an entire group passes, by the time the last sled passes, a sled could be coming from the other direction.

Remember as you ride & meet a groomer the equipment is NOT able to leave the trail due to it’s weight.  Pull over & stop.  Wait for direction from the driver.  Give ’em a thumbs up.  They groom so we can ride!

Please ride on the right side, slow down, limit alcohol & no off trail riding.

Eagle & Catfish Lake trails are still marked.  With the sun there is heavy surface slush on the SNOW. If a lake is not marked it probably is not safe.

Take the snowmobiliers pledge to protect snowmobiling access for today’s and future snowmobiliers.

Keep DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!!

Adventure Sledding Season! It’s not over.  See ya on the trails!
