Rode again yesterday.  Short ride of 55 miles.  Headed east from our home on 10 it was groomed the night before  Very Good.  Short run down 9mile spur to 9mile Rd.  It was Excellent.  Turned around & headed east on 10 to the connect with the Three Lakes trails. Eagle River section was Very Good except for hill at the connect with Three Lakes which is on a high southside hill.  Beyond that on 10 was Very Good to Excellent.  TL8 to Hwy 32 crossing.  All Very Good to Excellent. Crossed Hwy 32 by Sunset Grill & rode along side of airport runway also Excellent.  At the end of runway there was a section that takes you across a few lakes was ragged and Poor except on the lakes all the way to Hwy 32 crossing by SpiritView restaurant.  Good after that ’til town where it was soft.  Hwy 45 crossing to Alt13 heading north to Eagle River.  13 was Very Good to Excellent.  At 10/13 intersection rode 10E home.  All snow covered.  Thinner at the beginning.  Pine Ln & Taylor Lk roads had enough cover to ride.  From the start of one way past ERRA Sports Arena was Good, then Very Good all the way home.  If your not ridin’…..why?

Trail Report – : Conover, Wisconsin – March 20, 2023

Reporter:snobuddies

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 12-18″

Date of Report: March 20, 2023

Area Report:

No grooming on Sunday night. I’m guessing the next time we will groom will be after we receive 1-3″ Tuesday into Wednesday. But, if the overnight temps are too high, we won’t. So far, it has been right around right around 30-32 degrees today with partial sunshine. So that evil March sun couldn’t do full damage.

Another groomer went out for a ride and reported good to very good trail conditions. Spots where the sun has been hitting and has ruined the base already are low on snow or bare. Some road routes are bare. But Twin Lake Rd from Twin Lake Pub to Monheim Rd is still snow covered. If you go north on Twin Lake Rd toward Lakota boat ramp of North Twin Lake, it has minimal snow on edges.

Trails in the woods are holding and the base is good. Just be aware that the trail conditions can change.

We seem to be in a cycle of getting snow, then a couple days of sunshine, then repeat.

Trails can remain open until March 31st.

News and Reports:

  • A reminder to ride between the orange blazers. Be careful in corners as there is an ice layer under the snow. Ride Right ➡️ Ride Safe.

Trail Report – : Iron County, Michigan – March 20, 2023

Reporter:Colleen

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 10-15 inches

Date of Report: March 20, 2023

Area Report:

This will probably be my last trail condition report for the season… we will be heading south ourselves in another week or so. Currently, trails are open… clubs are grooming mainly at night with the cooler temps.  Highs are forecasted to be in the Mid 30’s through Wednesday this week…  and then temps slowly start to climb into the 40’s possible on Thursday and into the weekend.

We have snowmobilers here staying with us through Wednesday and they are saying the trails for the most part are in good condition still.  With exception to road crossings and any road riding in town.  Northern & western trails are in good shape.. plenty of snow on them.. southern trails are starting to get thin… especially when approaching highly trafficked areas… coming into the towns and gas stations and such.

Some snow is in the forecast for Tuesday night… not calling for much I saw (2-3 inches) last time I looked.

If you got a chance to come and ride this past season.. we hope the trails were good.. we hope you had a wonderful time and look forward to your return next year!  And to BOTH of our Snowmobile Clubs and members… THANK YOU all for keeping the trails groomed and as smooth as possible this past snowmobile season.  Lots of time and work goes into keeping our trail system open each year!!  And last but not least… “THANK YOU” to the landowners who allow the trails to cross onto their property. Without you we wouldn’t have a trail system in Iron County to enjoy!!

Happy and Safe Tails to everyone and hopefully we will see y’all soon!!  Don’t forget…  AtV season is coming up next!!  🙂
