Trail Report – : Three Lakes – Brule River, Wisconsin – January 1, 2020

Reporter:Threelakeswi

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 12-15”

Date of Report: January 1, 2020

Area Report:

Our trail system is open with the exception of the trail noted below. With a wet heavy snow earlier this week we have a lot of low over hanging trees that we are dealing with. We are grooming on a nightly basis. Trails are in fair to good conditions. Colder weather in the forecast should really firm everything up. It looks like the warmer temps are gone and we should be in good shape with some more snow coming.

Alternate trail 13 to sugar camp from rice lake road to sugar camp trails is closed until further notice. It is not safe with running water in the swamp.

Swamps, some are good, some are bad. There are a few that we still cannot groom yet. They are safe to ride, or we would have closed that trail.

Lakes, they are not marked and will not be marked until they are safe.

If you come across a tree that has fallen or something that you may see unsafe, please message us on Facebook. Please try and get the trail or the tin(trail identification number) that are located at all intersections.

Please be safe out there, it has been a horrific fall getting the trail system open this year with all the storms. We have thousands of hours getting trails ready for your safety and enjoyment.

If you like our trails, be sure to put a few dollars in our donation boxes in your favorite establishment, if you see something you don’t like, message us on Facebook and let us know, we will do what we can to fix it.

Trail Report – : Boulder Junction, Wisconsin – January 1, 2020

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 16-22 inches

Date of Report: January 1, 2020

Area Report:

Trail report for Wednesday, January 1 – Fair to Good. I Hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Year. We got about 10+ inches of snow Sunday night through yesterday. We were out last night grooming and will be grooming today all trails leading into town. With all this snow along with an increase in traffic it creates bumps very quickly. Since opening day of our trails opening, we have had over 4000 sleds on our trail. This started out to be a very wet and heavy snow Sunday and will pack very well. With cooler temps it will help increasing our base. It would really help if we had some subzero temps to stiffen up the trail. We are at the hands of Mother Nature and we take what she gives us. Please use extreme caution in all areas! Stay on marked trails! Remember to be safe, ride right, and enjoy the ride.

Happy New Year!

The Frosty Club trails have recovered nicely from our warm up/rain. Regular grooming the past 2 evenings combined with cold (near 0 this morning) temps have done quite the nice job setting up a hard smooth trail. It has been a challenging week for our groomers and grooming equipment but Trail boss rob and the gang are gettin’ r done. Please drive carefully and watch for some icy corners. Lac Vieux Desert and Twin Lakes have been marked with barrels but use caution as there may be slush/frozen slush out there.

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 20″ to 30″

Date of Report: December 31, 2019

Area Report:

The rain hurt our awesome snow, but with the snow we got yesterday into today, the trails are back in business.  The groomers went back out at dark last night and were out all day, as usual.  Snow totals were 18″ and more.   There are several trails that have wet spots that I will list below.  Luckily we had a good, hard base and the new snow was all we needed to whip the trails back into shape.  The Dreamland trail is open and being groomed.  Get your trip together, you don’t want to miss the best trail system around!!

Remember:  Trail 3 from Dollar Bay to Lake Linden will be closed for the season, as well as the Freda Loop.

  • Trail 124 to Gay has slush/water on the Phoenix side of the Gay/Mohawk Road.
  • Trail 122 should be avoided due  to water.
  • Trail 132 has several wet areas.
  • Trail out to High Rock Point has deep water and should be avoided.
  • Trail 134 has a wet area.

Please ride with caution.  There may be other wet areas popping up or trees coming down from the heavy snow.

See you on the trails!!!

Trail Report – : Hayward / Sawyer County, Wisconsin – December 31, 2019

Reporter:haywardlakes

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 9 to 16 inches

Date of Report: December 31, 2019

Area Report:

Hello Riders!

Most of Sawyer County received approximately 5-6″ of fresh snow yesterday. The temps continue to be below freezing and that is what we need to firm things up again after the low temps and rain last weekend. The northern part of the county has some good trails in the county forests however in low spots there is standing water. The southern area is reporting a lot of standing water and slush. Due to this all grooming in Sawyer County continues to be on hold until the cool temps can firm things up. Some groomers have been out to test the trails but find it will do more damage than good so they will stay off until hardened. We are asking your help to ride and pack the trails, this packs that fresh snow in so it freezes and sets. We ask that you ride the width of the groomer, approximately 8-9 feet apart. This trail packing is so important to aid in getting groomers back out so grab your sleds!

Please no lake or swamp riding until further notice as well.

Keep checking back as we will continue to update

Trail Report – : Minocqua, Wisconsin – December 31, 2019

Reporter:minocqua

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 12-18

Date of Report: December 31, 2019

Area Report:

We received 8 inches of heavy wet snow yesterday, some branches might be hanging over trails and water and slush are showing up in low areas from the rain before the snow came, we have to wait for the cold to come in and freeze these areas up, Most of the lakes are not marked yet until they freeze the water and slush , Tonight the temp is going to be a high of 9 degrees so that should help, The trails will improve every day now that cold temps at night will firm everything up,
