SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN EAGLE RIVER
Varying conditions – Many icy sections

Another cold morning in Eagle River.  Currently 7 moving on up to 21.  3 degrees tonight. Weather reports & radar show SNOW moving in around 9am.  Continuing through the day until around 5pm.  1-3 inches of SNOW forecast.  Do a SNOW DANCE so we get more! 20’s for highs & teens overnight for the next few days.  More SNOW forecast for Wednesday. Cloudy today!!

Out riding yesterday & it was busy on the trails.  See our ride below.

Groomer Tracking Systems (GTS Trails) is having technical difficulties this morning.  So no trail grooming report for this morning.  If corrected will update later today.

Catfish & Eagle Lake trails are marked.  Rode Eagle Lake trail yesterday.  There are slight bumps but nothing very bad.  Did find trail very very icy with blow off of snow in some sections.  Please slow down.

Yesterday rode from our house on 10E heading west toward town.  Trail good all the way in.  A little chop on the section under the trees along Hwy 70.  Road sections were partially covered with ice.

Took Chanticleer Inn trail to Eagle Lake.  Some chop but ok.  As reported above no moguls on Eagle Lake but it was very very icy.

Trail 1 heading north was good.  Townhall Rd section on the road was very icy.  1 all the way 17N intersection was good.  Went right on 17N to Columbus Rd & it was very good.

Headed back on 17N. Section from trail 1 intersection west to Hwy 45N road crossing fair with bumps.

Trail 3 aka Manske Swamp was pretty good on the east side up to the middle.  West side fair.

10W/13N up to the turn toward the Wisconsin River Bridge area was very rough.  Wisconsin River Bridge section was good.  Frozen tight.

At the intersection of 10W/13N took 13N.  Rode all the 13’s in the Bucatabon Bridge/Bauer’ area trails were they excellent.  Looks to have been groomed more than others.  Rode back pretty much the same way we went up there on 13. Crossing back over the Wisconsin River Bridge – 10W/13N all the way down to Eagle River.  From 3N aka Manske Swamp intersection all the way to where you pick up Adams Rd trail not groomed & very rough.

From turn back into the woods into & through town trails good.  A bit of chop on “The Grade” section of 10W/13N just before Hwy G crossing.  Snow in town is still soft & mushy but there is plenty of it. Not much water at crossing even with the evil sun out.

Headed home on Alt13/3S which had a few more bumps.  Turn onto 10E.  Loon Lk Rd to Bloom Rd was pretty good.  Some chop.  Road sections very icy.  Riding east on 10 trail was very rough with moguls all the way home.

THINK COLD & KEEP DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!!!  P.S. No evil sun either!!

Be safe.  See you on the trails!

CROSS COUNTRY CRUISERS TRAIL REPORT 02/06/2020
The Cruisers trail system is in somewhat good shape, considering the high amount of traffic we’ve been having. There are some icy areas, spots that are down to dirt and corners may be slick, so ride with extra caution. Just waiting for the 4” of new snow that’s predicted for this Sunday!
We’ve had complaints about off trail riding in the Minocqua Park Complex (Trail 10 along Camp Pinemere Rd) I guess we can’t stress this enough-please PAY ATTENTION TO THE SIGNS & STAY ON TRAILS- or risk losing them. Don’t be the one to ruin it for all others.

Area Report:

February 8, 2020 – 7:10am – 3 Cloudy

SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN EAGLE RIVER
For the most part Fair due to icy conditions

Lake Effect Snow yesterday brought a schiff of SNOW.  Enough to cover the vehicle but not much more.  Today no SNOW in the forecast.  High of 21 today.  9 tonight.  Tomorrow SNOW moving in. 1-3 inches in the forecast.  Best report of the morning is just a little bit of the evil sun this morning.  Then cloudy.

Traffic picked up again yesterday.  Found groups not as large as the past 2 weeks but still plenty of sleds out there.  Conditions are crusty icy so please slow down.  Most have loose SNOW on top.  Did not find as much burn through as I thought.  Just a few corners here & there where they face south.  Some corners are shiny ice. So, yep slow down.  Stay right on your side everywhere.

As the day went on trails were choppy especially northside of town & west. Some areas with moguls in the frozen swamp areas.

More riding today plan a short trip north & a bit east for breakfast.  Let you know what I found tomorrow.

Groomer Tracking Systems reports show the following trails groomed in the last 24 hours.  NOTE THE SNO-EAGLES ARE DEMOING A PRINOTH GROOMER THAT HAS NO GPS.  No info is available for this groomer.  Check out the phone update for any changes.

  • 10W/13N from the groomer barn to where trail comes out on Adams Rd
  • 17N
  • 1 to the Eagle Lake boat launch
  • Uncle Kent club trail
  • 10W east to the west side of the Wisconsin River bridge
  • 10W west to Sayner/St. Germain connect
  • 7 off 10W southwest to Sayner connect
  • 13N from 10W west of Wisconsin River bridge to Bauers Dam turn around

Catfish & Eagle Lake trails are marked.  Reports of chop.  Please stay by the orange reflective barrels.

THINK COLD & KEEP DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!!!  P.S. No evil sun either!!

Be safe.  See you on the trails!

Trail Report – : Three Lakes – Brule River, Wisconsin – February 8, 2020

Reporter:Threelakeswi

Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 15-20”

Date of Report: February 8, 2020

Area Report:

Our trail system is open with the exception of the trail noted below. Trails are in excellent condition. We had a slight warm up over last weekend with a very busy weekend, however some cold temperatures now and our groomer drivers did a excellent job the past few days. Some icy corners and a little snirt may be encountered, but overall excellent conditions. We have a very good base. Trails are ver hard and not much loose snow for lubrication or cooling. It might be a good idea to install a set of ice scratchers to kick up some snow to cool your sled down. Road routes are snow covered, some corners have a little ice. We are grooming on a nightly basis.

Remember it is law to yield to the groomer.

Trail 13 to sugar camp from rice lake road to sugar camp trails is closed until further notice. It is not safe with running water in the swamp.

Spirit, maple, townline, moccasin, round, crystal, island, and planting ground lakes are completely marked. Medicine and big stone lakes are partially marked. Stay within 10’ of the barrels to insure safe ice. If you don’t see barrels assume unsafe ice.

If you come across a tree that has fallen or something that you may see unsafe, please message us on Facebook. Please try and get the trail or the tin(trail identification number) that are located at all intersections.

Please be safe out there, it has been a horrific fall getting the trail system open this year with all the storms. We have thousands of hours getting trails ready for your safety and enjoyment.

If you like our trails, be sure to put a few dollars in our donation boxes in your favorite establishment, if you see something you don’t like, message us on Facebook and let us know, we will do what we can to fix it.
