The Snow conditions are great! Our groomers have been out daily and the trails are very smooth.This season has been excellent for snow amounts.We got 2 ft of snow early in December and the temps have helped to keep most of the snow in place.We should have average temps this weekend.Enjoy the ride! SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN EAGLE RIVER
Good to Very Good on average – Some icy sections
Holy Moly it’s 18 below zero at 5:40am. High of 12 today with a low of 3 tonight. Tomorrow temps will come up a bit. High of 28 with a low of 6. Sunday 17 for a high & 3 for a low. So winter isn’t going anywhere! Next SNOW is forecast for Monday. No reliable totals so stay tuned.
Groomer Tracking Systems (GTS Trails) reports shows all trails groomed last night with the exception of 9Mi trail off of 10E and the Wisconsin River Bridge section of 10W/13N. Everything is ready for this President’s Weekend!
Catfish & Eagle Lake trails are marked. Eagle Lake a little chop but nothing bad. Icy with blow off of snow in some sections. Please slow down.
Yesterday was the return trip to Eagle River from Florence county for the Sno-Eagles Weekday Away. Left the Doll House Bed & Breakfast shortly after 9:30am with temps just a bit below zero. After riding through the City trails in Florence we picked up trail F2 that took us to trail 6. Trail 6 was freshly groomed & EXCELLENT all the way to the trail intersection of 6 & trail that heads south to Long Lake. There we said goodbye to 2 of the riders as they head south & home. Heading east on 6 from the intersection all the way to the connect with the Three Lakes/Brule River trails was GOOD. The Three Lakes/Brule River trail 6 was also freshly groomed & EXCELLENT all the way to the trail 10 intersection with the Eagle River trails. 10 section of the Eagle River trail were EXCELLENT to the Hwy 70 crossing off of South Military Rd. One more rider dropped off to head home on Military road. From there the trails were GOOD to VERY GOOD with some small chop. We dropped off at our house with the rest of riders heading into Eagle River.

All trails were groomed last night and will be again tonight. Fast and hard they are…be careful for the icy corners. Saturday is supposed to warm to 30 degrees and with the heavy weekend traffic we may see some bumps. Some snow in the forecast. Lakes are in good shape. Life is Good in Land O Lakes Frosty Club territory!

Hello Riders!!
All of our trails are open and in very good condition, with groomers out continuously getting the trails ready for this weekend.
All lake trails continue to be open, Do always ride with caution in areas of fast flowing water under the ice such as channels and stay on the marked trails. Lake Hayward is the only lake that is CLOSED to riding as the trail near the bridge and channel opened up. There are barriers at all of the entrances.

Brrr, it’s cold here in the Houghton/Hancock/Keweenaw area!! We got anywhere from 3 to 6″ of snow overnight and they are saying another 2-5″ tonight. The bit of snow has freshened up the trails. There is plenty of snow out on the trails and all trails are being groomed. Looks to be a busy weekend riding up here, so ride with caution. The riders that I have talked to have all said the trails are great and they are having a ball. The weekdays look to be a bit quieter, so if you are looking for time that may not be as busy, that’s a perfect time.
Trail 133 between Gay and LacLabelle is closed for the season.
Trail 120 & 121 Freda Loop is closed for the season
Trail 3 between Dollar Bay and Lake Linden is closed for the season

Area Report:
Lincoln County’s funded snowmobile trails (County Administrated Trails) are all open effective immediately. The segment of Corridor 19 (Zone 1) between Newwood Rd and Four Mile Road is rerouted along these roads for the time being, watch for signs.
Trails are in good-very good condition.
All trails are closed to winter ATV use when the temperature is above 28 degrees F.
Be aware of Trail Closed signs, stay on marked trails only and respect private land.

The trails are open, groomed and in excellent condition. A little dusting of fresh snow and colder temps are helping to make the Forest County trails even better for the up coming week end! There are reports of some icy spots so ride with care. Always use caution when riding on lakes and frozen water as ice conditions will vary.
We cannot stress enough to ride safely and responsibly and stay on marked trails!
The clubs that maintain the Forest County Trail System are made up of volunteers who work very hard to provide the best trails possible. Please respect them while on the trail. When approaching a groomer or member doing trail maintenance, please slow down and move over so they can do their job.
Load on up and head in the direction of Forest County, Get out and ride!

GENERAL INFORMATION: Colder weather and high traffic took have compacted and frozen any slush remaining on staked trails. In spite of the colder temperatures, higher trail traffic is expected over the holiday weekend, so use caution and travel at appropriate speeds. Trails overall are reported to be in fair to good condition. Several area lakes are now staked, and riders are asked to please ride in staked areas to ensure best conditions. As always, even when conditions are their best, it’s still wise to use caution when venturing onto the ice on foot or machine.
Area Trails: Tomahawk trail is groomed to the North Shore trail and reported to be in fair condition. Conditions on Grassy Loop, Burntside, Shagawa, Little Long, Mud Lake and White Iron Lake are reported to be in pretty good shape. Mud lake trails were recently groomed, and there may be an extra grooming of area trails this weekend in anticipation of higher holiday weekend trail traffic. Birch Lake is staked for snowmobile trails to Hidden Bay. Cedar Lake is not staked; snowmobilers should use Cloquet Line instead. Everything else is staked. As always, please stay on staked trails.
Arrowhead State Trail :Snowmobiling: Condition-Very Good Trail – Groomed Base – 1-6” The Arrowhead State trail is the backbone to an extensive Grant-in-Aid trail system that travels through remote areas.
TRAIL CONDITIONS: The entire trail is groomed and in very good condition from the Taconite State Trail junction north to the Blue Ox trail. With the recent dip in temperatures, the trail is hardening up and will be groomed another time before the weekend.
Bearhead Lake State Park Snowmobiling: Condition – Very good Trails – Groomed Base 5-12”
TRAIL CONDITIONS: The Taconite Trail and Cub Lake Spur to the Trail Center are both in very good condition.
Bearhead State Park trails provide rolling topography through birch and pine stands. You may see a variety of wildlife ranging from deer, wolves, ruffed grouse, and pine martens. You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota’s state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as snowmobiling or skiing.
Lake Vermilion – Soudan Underground Mine State Park : Snowmobiling: Condition – Very Good Trails Groomed Base – 1-6”
TRAIL CONDITIONS: These trails were groomed on February 6 and will be groomed again before the weekend. Trails are in very good condition. For all trails use caution at all times. Please travel at appropriate speeds and stay to the right No motorized vehicles other than snowmobiles are allowed on State Trails or Grant-in-Aid snowmobile trails.
The park has 5 miles of snowmobile trails that connects from the Taconite State Trail to the Lake Vermilion ice trail. The ride takes you through old growth pines and young aspen forests with large wetland complexes to view along the way. You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota’s state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as snowmobiling or skiing.
Putnam/Fishing Lakes – Bear Island State Forest Snowmobiling: Condition – Very Good Trails – Groomed Base – 1-6”
The Putnam and Fishing Lakes Trails traverse forested, rolling topography through birch, ash, and pine stands. Several small lakes dot the landscape along these scenic trails.
TRAIL CONDITIONS: The entire trail was groomed February 5 and is in very good condition. Please use caution when riding, travel at appropriate speeds, and stay to the right. No Motorized Vehicles other than snowmobiles are allowed on State Trails or Grant-in-Aid snowmobile trails.
Taconite State Trail Snowmobiling: Condition – Excellent Trails – Groomed Base 1-6” Taconite State Trail stretches one hundred sixty-five miles from Grand Rapids to Ely through many scenic vistas of rolling hillsides, lakes, rivers and forest.
TRAIL CONDITIONS: The entire Taconite is groomed from Ely to Hwy 73. The trail surface has hardened up with the colder weather and extra moisture in the snow. The trail will be groomed again before the weekend to flatten the corners and bumps. Please use caution when riding, travel at appropriate speeds, and stay to the right. No Motorized Vehicles other than snowmobiles are allowed on State Trails or Grant-in-Aid snowmobile trails.

Due to the current snowfall all trails have been opened. Be watchfull for some trails being dead end at Cty Highway A and the interstate. Landowner issues prevail and solutions are becoming difficult .
In Zone 1 along Highway 50 West of Paddock Lake powerline construction has caused the need for caution.

Snowmobile Trails
Red Arrow Snowmobile ATV Club (Townsend) – 2/13/20
They are still in in very good to excellent riding condition, except between intersections 510 & 512, which I would rate as fair riding condition. It had starting to form a base since last snow, but much of it has since melted , with some bare spots now showing. It is still an area to be cautious in, but a decent ride right now. Reach out into the wooded trails to seek out the best the area has to offer.
Paul Bunyan Riders Snowmobile Club (Lakewood) – 2/13/20
All Paul Bunyan Riders trails were groomed last night and are in absolute perfect condition. They will stay in excellent shape with the cold weather. Friday is going to be wicked but Saturday and Sunday’s weather will be excellent riding conditions.
Chute Pond Snowmobile Club (Mountain) – 2/13/2020
Chute Pond Snowmobile Club trails are open, groomed on a regular basis, and in very good condition.
NEW DETOUR: There is a new detour route from INT#447 that runs north and west and intersects with the 18 Corridor trail at Riverview Rd (see map- detour is shown in red). Thank you to the Towns of Mountain and Riverview for allowing the use of the unplowed town roads to complete this detour. The detour route is groomed and marked.
Exceptions (see map): Trails that will remain closed indefinitely are from INT#451-INT#453 (from east of Hwy 32 behind the Junction to Jack Pine Rd), and from INT#447 north to the 18 Corridor trail near Cooked Lake (the northern pipeline trail). DO NOT ride the closed trails- they have not been cleared from the July wind storms because the swamps are still wet and have not allowed equipment to get in to work on those areas yet. The closed areas are tangles of fallen trees in a swampy area- you don’t want to go there.
Cautions for the entire season: Be aware that any off-trail riding- even to take one ski off to “grab a little loose snow”- could be dangerous. The July wind storms have devastated many areas of our forested trails, and there are many trees and limbs on the ground just off the edges of the groomed trails. Please stay safe- stay on the groomed trails. Riders are urged to reduce speed and ride with extra caution, as the forest and the trails look very different since the storm. There are numerous logging operations that will be ongoing throughout the season. Please use extra caution in these areas. No Chute Pond trails cross any lakes or rivers- use extreme caution on all frozen surfaces. You are encouraged to carry a portable hand saw if possible, since limbs and branches continue to fall onto and over the trails. Please- ride sober, stay to the right, and stay on the marked trails.
Bagley & Brazeau Joyriders – 2/12/20
We received 5” to 10” of snow on Sunday and more coming this week so we are grooming Monday, Tuesday and Friday. The trails are good to excellent condition. The trails in the marshes and low areas that are not groomed are getting harder we tried to groom in the marsh this week and are getting through some of them. There are spots a little rough so take it slow through them and enjoy the good trails. Chute Pond opened and marked a trail to get to Crooked Lake or Chute Pond this week. When you get to the intersection 447 leaving BB Joyriders trails, keep going west and this trail will link you to the trail that goes north to Crooked Lake or South to Chute Pond.
Gillett Sno ATV Riders – 2/13/20
The groomer will be out tonight 2/9 and tomorrow 2/10 during the day getting trails back in order after the recent snowfall. The Nicolet State Trail is in great condition and is currently being groomed. The spur off trails will be hit tonight and tomorrow. The entire Gillett trail system will open on Tuesday 2/11 at 8am.
Oconto Falls Sno-Jokers – 2/13/20
Oconto Falls trails will open at 8 am, Monday, February 10th. Please use extra caution as the groomer has not yet been out. Please go slow as ditches and swamps will be hazardous if riding too fast for trail conditions. We are also asking that you go slow in corners and pack the trail down wide until we are able to pan the trails later this week. Please stay between trail markers, and ride safe!
Lena Sno-Drifters – 2/13/20
Our trails are open! We received a dumping of dry snow. Grooming will occur this week, please be patient as we are down a groomer. This weeks temperature swings will help set the trails, we hope to have everything done for the weekend. Expect early season conditions at this time.
Chase Sno-Chasers – 2/13/20
The Chase trails will open at 6:00AM Thursday February 13, 2020. They were groomed Monday and will be groomed again Thursday evening.
