Hello Riders!

Another weekend is sneaking upon us!  The groomers have been out running all week and we are in a cold snap today so those trails are froze down nice and flat! The Tuscobia, Flambeau, LCO/Grindstone, Round Lake, Seeley Hills, Moose Lake just to name a few GREAT groomed riding areas! No new substantial snow but a nice little bit on top to freshen things up and add to the lakes to help keep sleds cool. The lakes do  have some rough and slick spots so we advise sticking to the trail. Many rough areas on the lake trails have been worked down due to traffic but again, please ride with caution. Speaking of lakes there is a note about the Chippewa Flowage, they have dropped the level of the lake several feet so there will be stumps and sand bars that you normally wouldn’t see so again, really stick to the marked trail unless going to your lodging or favorite spots just keep your eyes peeled!

The temps will be great for riding this weekend so grab your gear and get out there!

Much of the Ashland County snowmobile trail system uses private property and could be lost if the property owners experiences issues. The most common complaints are snowmobiles not staying on trails or going off into fields that are not part of the trail, and loud noise from non-stock muffler systems. Respect the trail system. The Tri-county corridor is open.

SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN EAGLE RIVER
Good to Very Good

Cold this morning! 13 below with a high today of 17 & low tonight of 5. Temps popping up for the weekend & into Tuesday. Need a THINK COLD from you all.  No SNOW in the forecast so DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE would be good too.

Trails are still loaded with deep snow.  Will post some photos tomorrow morning of trail conditions.

Groomer Tracking Systems (GTS Trails) reports in the last 24 hours no grooming

Riding in the area found GOOD to VERY GOOD conditions with areas of EXCELLENT.  Trail 10E & the 13’s in the Buckatabon/Bauer’s Dam area are 2 EXCELLENT trails. No problem areas to report at all.  The cold temps have kept the swamp sections of the trails frozen. With regular grooming these areas have smoothed out from where they were earlier this winter.  COLD over the next 2 days will keep everything in shape.

Today is Thursday & the Sno-Eagles guided trail.  Meet at 9am at the Historic Railroad Depot on trail 10/13 across from Friendship House.

Catfish & Eagle Lake trails are marked.  With the cold no surface slush.  Eagle Lake a little chop but nothing bad.  Remember not all lakes are safe.  Check maps & looks for markers.  If you don’t see any the lake is not safe. P.S. There is a 55mph nighttime speed limit.

Last be sure to stay on the right side when riding. Straight aways, corner & hills.

KEEP DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!!!

See ya on the trails this weekend!

We invite you to take a trip and see all that Price County has to offer.

****There is a reroute on Trail 120 that will be in effect all season. The reroute is on the Northern section that eliminates the old 120 trail from FR 519 to the intersection of 120 and 121. Reroute takes you NW up FR519 to Sheep Ranch to FR522 then connects to 101. This eliminates a very bad part of the swamp.****

2/19/2020 Northwoods Hi-Riders

Trails in the Solberg Lake area are in Very Good to Excellent condition and are being groomed on a regular schedule. A few inches of new snow has put the “icing on the cake”. Be advised we have mechanized brushing operations going on trails 112, 141 and 102 this week. Please use caution and be on the lookout for machinery. If you encounter some loose brush or larger branches that are in the middle of the trail, please take the few seconds to stop and throw them off to the side. Thank You!

2/5/2020 Fifield Sno Drovers

The trails conditions in the Pike Lake area are from very good to excellent.   The cold weather has firmed up the slush on the marked lake routes, but there is still slush if you leave the marked trails.  The corridors such as 101/10 get very rough following heavy traffic and, while we have increased our grooming, we need new snow.   There are no bare spots, but expect moguls between grooming runs.  Trail 111/19 to the north is excellent as is trail 121, as these don’t experience the heavy traffic. Trail 106/19 to Iron county is still not being groomed and isn’t recommended as there is flowing water over the county line.

1/29/2020 Elk River Pioneers

Pioneer trails are now in excellent condition.  They are groomed at least twice per week.  Trail 82 into Sawyer County is now open and in very good condition.  There might be wet areas on some trails.  Do not try to go off of the main trail.  The north entry and exit to Wilson Lake is closed until we get some colder weather.  Use the trail 80 entry and exit on the south west end of Wilson Lake.  There is a logging operation on trail 85.

1/29/2020 Chaparrals

All trails to the east and south of Phillips are in excellent condition.  Be aware of wet areas in the system.  Slow down and stay on the marked trail.  Do not try to go off of the trails as the ground along the sides of most trails is not frozen.  Reminder of the trail reroute on trail 161 along Musser Drive.  All trails are groomed at least twice per week.

1/29/2020 Lugerville Chaser

Our trails are being groomed twice a week and are in good to excellent condition.  A power company is still working on trail 90 there is Utility signs up so use caution

GOGEBIC AREA GROOMERS 2/17/2020

President’s Weekend was super busy in the Lake Gogebic Area, however, all trails remain in good to excellent condition.    The snow we received over the weekend was certainly welcomed, and today we woke up to about 2” of overnight snow.  As of noon on Tuesday it’s still snowing and it doesn’t look like it’s letting up anytime soon.   C-c-cold below temps move Wednesday, which is perfectly fine considering our forecasted weekend warm up that is looking more favorable on our end as we get closer in.    Even if temps get into mid-30’s – they only hover there for a few hours, and the nightly temps are drop into the teens and 20’s, giving groomers an opportunity to get out at night and clean things up.    We’ve received almost 140” of snow this season and currently trails have more than a 2’ base.    Groomers got this – and they recommend that you just get out and ride early before the snow gets soft and starts moving around.

Trail Report – : Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin – February 19, 2020

Reporter:Phil

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: Looks like winter

Date of Report: February 19, 2020

Area Report:

We received a couple of inches of snow yesterday and the temps have been cold (-20) tonight so the trails are very good shape….with the exception of trail 6 west of the airport thru the swamp to the cemetery. That is extremely rough and use caution for that couple of miles stretch. We hope to get the smaller groomer fixed today and we will take several passes thru that stretch to try to smooth it out. Our new tractor is just too heavy for that area and will not make it through. A warm sunny weekend so it is time to ride the Frosty Club trails! Some corners are icy so use caution.

Reporter:Threelakeswi

Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 20-25”

Date of Report: February 19, 2020

Area Report:

Great news, all of our land trails are open. Trails are in excellent condition. We received a couple inches of fresh snow this week, which will provide some lubrication for the slides. We have a very hard base with a couple icy corners. It might be a good idea to install a set of ice scratchers to kick up some snow to cool your sled down. Road routes are snow covered, some corners have a little ice. We are grooming on a nightly basis.

Remember it is law to yield to the groomer.
This Saturday is the annual junker sled weekend race at the snowmobile park. Racing starts at 10am and will have award winning chili, fresh brats, prime rib sandwiches, cold beer and soda. Stop out and check it out. Checkout our Facebook page for all the details on those fun events.

Spirit, maple, townline, moccasin, round, crystal, island, and planting ground lakes are completely marked. Medicine and big stone lakes are partially marked. Stay within 10’ of the barrels to insure safe ice. If you don’t see barrels assume unsafe ice.

If you come across a tree that has fallen or something that you may see unsafe, please message us on Facebook. Please try and get the trail or the tin(trail identification number) that are located at all intersections.

Please be safe out there, it has been a horrific fall getting the trail system open this year with all the storms. We have thousands of hours getting trails ready for your safety and enjoyment.

If you like our trails, be sure to put a few dollars in our donation boxes in your favorite establishment, if you see something you don’t like, message us on Facebook and let us know, we will do what we can to fix it.
