Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 12+

Date of Report: February 2, 2021

Area Report:

The last snow we had dumped between 5″ to  7″ and we had so many riders from every were around so the trails got hammered hard so we will try to get them all regroomed as we can. The problem we have is our tractor has tires and no tracks so we really have to struggle to get thru. We have the club coming over from the east today to open up one of our trails and hope to have the rest done before the weekend.

We would like to THANK everyone that came out and rode our area this past weekend and hope to see you all again soon

Trail Report – : Jefferson County, Wisconsin – February 2, 2021

Trail Conditions: Good

Date of Report: February 2, 2021

Area Report:

Last weekend we received a major storm with lots of wind, which caused considerable drifting. Groomers are out smoothing them down , so be careful and watch for them. Remember they have the right of way ,Some groomer drivers operate on the left side of the trail which enables them to pull snow back into divots,  left by the drivers with heavy thumbs that spin the track , so be careful approaching steep hills , there might be a groomer coming up the other side. Remember stay between the blazers as going outside of them and cutting corners is TRESPASSING ,

We have snow in the forecast is calling for 5-8 inches for Thursday.  We need it so let’s keep our fingers crossed.  Temps for the weekend are going to be cold below zero on Saturday and Sunday so dress warm.

Gogebic Range Trail Authority – Snowmobile & ORV Club Trail Report 2/2/2021

Our trails are rated fair with some poor sections.  Trails are icy and the base is thin. We have not groomed since Saturday night in an effort to preserve the base.  Trail 160 and 11s remain rated in good condition.  Grooming will resume tonight to flatten Wakefield to Ironwood.  Trails will improve with the new snow and cold temps we are expecting.

Trails could use more SNOW and it looks like Thursday is the day!  Weather guys say 3-5 inches during the day with another 1-3 inches Thursday night! Boy oh boy sure hope they are right!!!  If we get this SNOW trails will be really Good!  Are you Dancin”? Following this SNOW is really cold weather starting this Friday.  Days next week when it will not come above zero.

Groomers were out last night grooming. The “grade” through town, heading south alt13/3S to Three Lakes.  Heading north 10/13N to include WI River bridge area, 17N, 1N.  Heading northwest all of 10W/7.  Suggest buying a Sno-Eagles trail map to help with location of trails.  Many, many conditions out there.  There are crusty trails & yes some snirt so the upcoming SNOW will be welcomed.

Been writing this all season but off trail riding continues to be a problem throughout Vilas county.  What this is doing is jeopardizing trail easements & will cause trail section closures.  Please once again stay on marked trails.

Catfish & Eagle Lake trails are marked with orange reflective barrels.  Please stay by the barrels to be safe.  The lakes are marked by the businesses on the lake so stop in & thank them when you’re out riding.

ONEIDA COUNTY trails are now OPEN.  Report is that all lakes are marked.  Be sure to stay be the markers & do not cross an unmarked lake trail.

Three Lakes Trails club was able to get the trails in Forest County they groom open. REST OF FOREST COUNTY IS NOT OPEN

KEEP THINKING COLD & DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!

Trail Conditions: Early Season

Snow Cover: 12″

Date of Report: February 2, 2021

News and Reports:

The trails saw heavy traffic this last weekend alot of the corners were pushed out and some patches of dirt were showing in places but not bad for the amount of snow we have on the ground and the amount of traffic they saw this weekend. This week traffic slowed down and gave us an opportunity to get the trails back in decent shape. Some trails are better than others. Keep praying for snow.

Boulder Junction Trail Report 2/1/2021

Our trails received substantial traffic this weekend. Our groomers were out every day this past weekend trying to keep our trails rideable. At this point, we desperately need more snow to improve our trails.

We are out grooming today with 8W, 51, and 2W groomed early this morning and 8E being groomed late morning. The balance will be groomed later today.

Generally all our trails are very thin with icy corners, and quite a few brown snirty sections. Our trails range from fair to good, but our road trails are still very good to excellent.

When passing through town whether you are on Corridor 8 or Corridor 15, please use the marked trails, follow the signs, and observe the 15 mph speed limit. Also, no snowmobiles are allowed on downtown Main Street.

We are watching a possible moderate to heavy snowfall predicted for late Thursday into Friday followed by cold temps for the weekend. If this happens, our trails finally should be in great shape.

If riding in our area, ride safe, respect others, and have a great time!

Trail advisory: If riding on the Boulder Junction airport spur trail, please stay on the edge of the runway parallel to the road in both directions. Damage has been done to the runway and if it continues, we could potentially lose access to this trail.
Speed Limit advisory: We have received numerous complaints from residents in town that sledders are speeding on marked snowmobile routes through town and are riding off the marked routes. When riding on town roads adhere to maximum speed of 15mph.

Think snow!
