EAGLE RIVER TRAILS
Unrideable to Poor
Season looks to be over at least for now. Temps were in low 50’s for highs yesterday & are 60 today. Trails in town are now unrideable with little or no SNOW. Trails out town there are a few SNOW covered areas but those are melting as well. Lots of bare spots. Wet slushy SNOW. And plenty of snirt.
The 11 Clus of the Vilas County Snowmobile Alliance took a vote & the announcement on the left tells it all. VILAS COUNTY TRAILS TEMPORARILY CLOSE at 8am, tomorrow, March 10,2025.
It was a much better season than last year & this last weekend was a bonus! Right now the Fat Lady is Singing. Just maybe one more weekend before we must closed at midnight on March 31, 2025???

Vilas County trails will close at 8am on Tuesday March 11th. This is a temporary closure, if we do get cold again and a big drop of snow, we could reopen again. But we are nearing the end of the season on March 31st.
All 11 clubs in Vilas did an amazing job getting the trails cleared of trees and panned out for one last ride last week.

Area Report:
The Vilas County Snowmobile Alliance has announced that all Vilas county snowmobile trails will “temporarily” close Tuesday, March 11 at 8:00 AM.
They are once again leaving open the possibility of reopening the trails should weather conditions change in our favor. The extended forecast does not look promising, but stranger things have happened.
Regardless of conditions, the absolute latest the trails are allowed to be open is March 31, so we are running out of time.
Should this be the end, the Sayner Barnstormers would like to thank all of you that enjoyed our trails and visited our amazing businesses this season. We could not do this without you! We hope to see you again next year!!

Season looks to be over. Temps were in low 50’s for highs yesterday & will be near 60 today. Trails in town are now unrideable with little or no SNOW. Trails out town there are a few SNOW covered areas but those are melting as well. Lots of bare spots. Wet slushy SNOW. And plenty of snirt.

Area Report:
Those that were able to come up this past weekend were able to get in some good snowmobiling. However, we are back to warmer days with direct sun. Our trails on the southern, eastern and western side of the county are pretty much down to lots of water with a small amount of snow on top. The very northern trails in the county still have decent coverage… but you will get wet when riding. Trailering north of Iron River is your best bet at this time.

Ski Brule will be open until sometime in April depending on weather and temperatures. For more information on their activities please contact them directly. Spring time skiing is some of the best skiing here in the Yoop.

Currently trails are not in good shape… be sure to call a local club and check on the current trail conditions.
