Rating trails as Good due to the warm temps today. Everything got groomed last night even with the tractor going down with a flat tire. There will be no grooming Wednesday night due to the warm temps. Things on the east side seemed to cover well when grooming. And with the warmer temps, the snow on the trails will be soft. So conditions will change fast out there. Corners will get pushed up and revel the ice pack below. We will be watching the forecast closely and adjusting grooming times.
The long range forecast shows a cool down, followed by another warm up. There is longrange reports that the cold will return and we hope that brings more snow with it.

Area Report:
With the base that was developed with our historical snow, the trails are in great shape. We came through the cold snap in good shape, even without significant snowfall.
The warm-up tentatively forecasted over the next few days could degrade the trails. We will schedule grooming based on high temperature forecasted. Hopefully, we can come out in good trail conditions even with the warm-up, but truly we will need to evaluate on a regular basis
Come on out and enjoy the trails.
Stay close to the barrels when crossing lakes.

Boulder Junction Snowmobile Club Trail Report – Wednesday, 2/8/2023
At 8:00 a.m. it’s 17 degrees out with sunny skies and a high of 43 degrees forecast for today.
Last night we groomed 15S and 11 with no grooming scheduled for today.
With the temps in the low 40’s and the sun being out, our trails will take a hit today, especially the snowmobile road routes. Weatherwise, Thursday and Friday look good, but we have an above freezing weather pattern arriving on Saturday and continuing through next week with no new snow insight.
After this warm up, we will desperately need more snow.
We have a club ride today and I will provide trail condition updates on Friday, February 10.
As always for everyone’s safety, slow down and ride right!

Area Report:
Washburn County snowmobile trails are open and in great shape. Please be cautious of soft spots along the trails as we have had slightly warmer temperatures, however, this should not have any major effects on the groomed base. Remember to ride with caution and stay on designated trail surfaces. Clubs are out grooming and maintaining the trails on a regular basis, so please use caution when you encounter grooming equipment

Area Report:
All trails are being groomed tonight as I post this at 9pm. Last night the East side was not groomed due to a breakdown on one unit. It has been repaired and back out Tuesday night.
With the warmer day time temps, trails were soft. Cold temps tonight should firm up grooming, but Wednesday temps are suppose to get above freezing. That will soften the snow again. I’m going to down grade the conditions from excellent to Very Good but trails can change quickly on Wednesday.
We won’t be grooming on Wednesday with the higher temps.

Area Report:
Great weekend with lots of riders… trail system held up well… people were very happy and saw groomers and operators out all weekend long. Temps started to come up on Saturday which made the riding much nicer as well.
Such a swing in temps this coming week compared to last weeks temperatures… Wednesday is going to be the warmest day.. but then Thursday is cooling off again with a good chance of snow on Thursday afternoon and evening again.
Currently, the trails are in good to very good condition… groomers and operators in both clubs are out grooming daily. Thank you guys for doing such a “Great Job” of grooming and keeping the trails smooth.
Very Good Condition on – Trail #2, Trail #16, Trail #116, Trail #107, Trail #113, Trail #18, Trail 15 S.
Good to Very Good Condition – Trail #111 to Sidnaw
Trail 15N to intersection of trail #111 remains closed with the bridge being out
Again, you can ride in any direction at this time… it should be a busy weekend on the trails. Michigan’s “Free Snowmobile” weekend is this Saturday & Sunday.. so be prepared for lots of traffic.
Be sure to give the Groomers plenty of room when you meet them on the trail and a BIG “Thumbs Up” goes a long way too. 🙂
Hope y’all have a great time on the trails.. and be safe! 🙂
