SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN EAGLE RIVER
& ALL OF VILAS COUNTY ARE NOT OPEN.
All clubs in Vilas County, including the Eagle River Sno-Eagles are busy working on the trails. Saturday volunteers were out signing & still clearing branches & trees from Eagle River trails. Most trails in Eagle River were panned this past week. Swamps are still wet & mushy. Also out packing to help a freeze up.
Yesterday saw a warm up spike into the mid 30’s. The off trail totals have dropped to about 15 inches. The panned trailed have about 8 inches. There is SNOW in the forecast again today. The weather guys are forecasting 3 inches +/-. Good news is that we are headed into COLD single temps from now until Thursday. Below zero overnight. Thursday, Friday & Saturday more SNOW.
Trail inspections began at the beginning on Monday. It takes 10-11 days to get all of the 11 clubs trails inspected. This all goes on while we wait for the 10 muzzleloader season & 4 day antlerless deer seasons to end on December 15. So no opening until sometime after the deer hunts end.
Be Patient. Won’t be long now! See ya on the trails sometime in mid-December.
