EAGLE RIVERS TRAILS
On average FAIR to GOOD
March 14 2019 6:51am – 42 – High 47
Warm daytime temps continue. Teens for lows at night til next week. SNOW is dropping but with so much SNOW on the ground trails are still FAIR to GOOD.
No grooming overnight.
SNOW is soft during the day when temps rise. Crusty in the mornings with temps going down to the low 20’s. Starting tomorrow the temps overnight will be in the mid to low teens. Forecast for no sun until mid next week during the day. Plenty of SNOW to ride on with varying conditions. In town SNOW is the softest. Water at the edges of all road crossings. The crossing just past Friendship House that takes you to the rec bridge along Hwy 45N is the worst where there is snirt. Only place there is any in town but is sure is mushy but ridable everywhere. Out of town going east is pretty good with downgrade between Loon Lake Rd to Bloom Rd & crossing the bridge near Boat Sport. Otherwise GOOD riding. North the same conditions. West the area from the Town of Lincoln Townhall out a distance is downgraded as well. Rest is pretty darn good. On the high hill on Trail 70W icy & rough. Take Trail 7 aka Paintball Field to Sugar Camp Trail 15 & on to the alternate 70’s to St. Germain OR head north on 13N taking 10W/13N toward Sayner. As of this morning the Wisconsin River bridge is open. Stay tuned for updates. Note most road trails/routes are bare or low on snow. All in all what really surprised me was the lack of snirt at the crossing.
These important updates continue:
There is 1 logging operations going on where there is a need to use parts of the trails. Trail 13N by Deep Lake Rd. Plus utility work on 7 near Sugar Camp on the high line.
Even with the warm up the snowbanks at driveway crossing & road crossings are still high in some areas. Road crews are still out winging road banks. There are some parts of trails that run along highways that could be have chunky snow on them from the road clearings. 10E is one.
EAGLE LAKE TRAIL & CATFISH LAKE TRAIL ARE MARKED & OPEN. Lakes are drifted & lots & lots of slush under & on top of the SNOW especially on Catfish Lake. Moguls on Eagle Lake is much worse than on Catfish Lake.
The 2 one-way trail areas are 10E from the ERRA Sports Arena all the way out to Nicolet Mini Mart. The other is the 13’s up near Buckatabon Bridge & Bauer’s Dam area. Please be aware that for now signs will be buried in many locations. PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK A MAP SO YOU KNOW THE LOCATION OF THESE TRAILS.
Trails can & will remain open until midnight March 31 snow & conditions permitting.
