Area Report:
Hello Riders,
No changes in weather in the last 24 hours. Able to get more reports from club members and volunteers as well as seasoned riders this morning. Their reports are that much of the trails from center of the county such as the Chippewa Flowage to the north are surprisingly quite good. The trails need more snow as they are icy but as reported yesterday and Monday the rain did not hurt much of our snow cover, just added a layer of ice which is the same report to the north. A seasoned group of local riders even went as far as to report a 7.5 out of 10 for trail conditions. Recommended to ride in the areas of the Chippewa Flowage, LCO and Grindstone, the Seeley Hills area, Moose Lake, Lost Land Lake and to the north around Lake Namakagon, these areas are snow covered rideable trails. Again exercise with caution due to icy corners and conditions. The groomer was out in Moose Lake yesterday, it’s running by Lake Namakagon and will run near Spider Lake to Lost Land Lake in upcoming days (no precise schedule on that as our volunteers do the work around their work schedules).
These are the most precise up to date trail reports so far, will update as different reports come in.
Thank you to all members and volunteers for working with Mother Nature has given us this week, for doing brush work and signage and reporting conditions. If you would like to join a club or volunteer time to trail maintenance please visit www.sawyercountyalliance.com to view your options of clubs.
